We stayed here over Gold Rush weekend (unbeknownst to us); it was fantastic. We had a river site (key for the 90 degree days). The staff are helpful, campground clean and the river access and activities plentiful. Lots of things to do closely as well - wineries, apple orchards, hiking and biking, etc. My only advice is to ask when...

It's hot here in August. Right next to the Marshall gold park. We panned for gold and swam in the river. Word of warning. If you want to tube down the river you must have a life jacket. They sell life jackets and tubes in the shop but there is no rental. The site was very busy but not noisy....

On a 100 degree day, we were so happy to hop in the pool after setting up our tent. It was rejuvenating. The kids loved playing on the two playgrounds, as well as climbing on the rocks and massive tires at our site. We were along the river and it sang us to sleep. Each site came with a large...

Reserved and paid in advance as required for our site months ago. With the help of staff we had chosen just the right site for our family. It had easy and direct access down to the river. We confirmed our site several times including the day of arrival and we were good to go...or not. When we arrived some guy...

We just camped here for one night, but I would definitely come back. Rates aren't cheap, but there are lots of amenities, and location along the south fork of the American River is ideal. It was a hot day so having a swimming pool available was great. We didn't have time to explore the state park nearby, so next time....

My family rented one of the bunkhouses near the pool a few weeks ago. We were part of a quite large group of people who all booked independently. The bunkhouse was clean and spacious, and had a good AC unit, which we relied on tremendously. The Campground offers a wide range of different options as far as accommodation goes, so...

I loved this little cabin, the setting it was in, and the Resort, over-all. It is right in the state park, with the Sutter-Marshall mill, just a short walk away---and if you go next summer (2016) all the new historic plaques should be in place---State Parks is really doing a number on the park. There was one negative: Advertising wireless,...

We rented a cabin here and had a great time! We enjoyed tubing and the staff were very nice and helpful. My daughter enjoyed the rock wall and playground. The cabin was nice and clean. We look forward to going back again!

We went here for a mini-family reunion type thing. There were 20 of us, I believe. Most of us shared a couple of camping spaces while one family was in the adjacent "miner's cabin" and a few other couples were in rooms elsewhere. We stayed Thursday night through Monday night. The people in the front office were very nice and...

Our visit time camping here. It was a holiday weekend so it was very crowded. Which we knew it would be. Upon first impressions, the office/store was very clean and staff very friendly. The theme is rustic to go along with 1800 gold mining. We were escorted to our site (5), which backed up to a hill of dry grass...
