We loved Yosemite and would recommend to everyone to visit but be careful where you choose to stay and who you book through. We booked using National Park Reservations & stayed for 3 nights in Sept 22 . Please note: "National Park Reservations is not an authorized concessionaire of any National Park nor are we in any way affiliated with the National Park Service of the Federal Government. For this service, National Park Reservations charges a ten percent non-refundable reservation fee based on the total dollar amount of reservations made." We paid USD390pn (excluding the reservation fee) for a river view room which was large and quiet with a pleasant outlook but was in poor condition with filthy carpet, worn out furnishings and a very poorly cleaned bathroom. It needs a full renovation. There is no mobile phone/internet coverage but you can pay $10pd for connection to the Lodge service. They were short staffed so there was no daily room service available.

Located in a great spot for visiting Yosemite. In order to be close to National Parks we have found that you have to give up some quality for proximity. Given that Yosimite View was ok, with one exception. In order to get Wifi we had to pay $10 per day. There was a disclaimer saying that the Wifi could not handle too much of a load. However this Wifi did NOTHING. Most hotels no longer charge for Wifi, so why charge for it when it absolutely does not work for anything?

The rooms are a bit outdated, but the beds are comfortable. Big disappointment was that our room was not cleaned for three nights, although we requested this from the staff (Luis) after the second night & hung a sign to request room service. We were not told that the rooms would not be cleaned until five nights. Luis at the front desk showed no understanding for this. Moreover, internet in this hotel costs 10 USD/day. Since the hotel is located in a dead zone, guests have almost no other alternatives. I would have wished for a better service at these prices (hotel night approx. 200 USD). Overall, I feel ripped off and can not recommend the hotel at all.

Yosemite View Lodge is the closest hotel to Yosemite that is not inside the park; a major selling feature if you can’t get limited, pricey park hotels (though it’s still a 20 minute drive into the Park). The Lodge is right on the Yosemite River and you can pay extra for a river view. The Lodge is like a resort. Each of the five buildings has its own pool (one indoor). There’s a fun game room with pool, foosball, cornhole, air hockey, board games and arcade games. There’s a small but decently-equipped fitness room, a restaurant and a large gift shop/grocery store. The room was large with decent furniture and a nice little kitchenette, but the bathroom was ancient and, indeed, the big problem with the Lodge generally is that it’s badly dated and poorly maintained. Everything looks old and dingy. The knob on the shower was loose and the drain cover was missing. The exterior floors are cracked and everything needs to be painted. Multiple room numbers have fallen off and not been replaced, which shows how little attention maintenance gets - this is a highly-visible and low-cost repair. I could excuse a lot of this at a cheap motel in a remote location but at $248, the Lodge wasn’t cheap. They ought to be able to afford some basic renovations in the off-season that would make this place pretty nice.

The hotel is 3+ star but I think it can be rated as 4star. The view from our balcony was breathtaking inspite of we stayed on first floor. Room was clean and great for family stay. Small kitchenette was equipped with dishes, glasses, utensils (see my photos). 4people can enjoy river view from a balcony. 2-people jacuzzi and fireplace in our room. Grat facilities. We used only hottub and swimming pool ( warm for outdoor pool) but the hotel has great entertainment area. Gor dining, I really liked pizza restaurant even I do not eat pizza but zi couldn't resist. It was delicious and they have a nice terrace. The main restaurant doesn't have terrace or it was closed. It's ok but not the best for Anniversary. Location was great and I saw a busstop in hotel but we had a car. Honestly , the hotel exceeded my expectations. I did not think it was so beautiful and nice.

Beautiful location, nice clean rooms. Pool and lounge area was nice. The walkway along the river was really peaceful. Very close to the valley of the park. For the value and proximity it was a win-win.

We stayed 2 nights at this hotel which is in a great location about 5 minutes from the entrance to Yosemite NP which is probably the closest place that isn't inside the park. We got a room overlooking the river which is very nice and peaceful ( I would highly recommend requesting a riverfront room). The room itself was okay...it was pretty large and the bathroom was large as well. It had a small refrigerator, microwave and stove top with some dishes and utensils so we were able to make our own food which was helpful since the food options in the area are limited. There is a restaurant on site but we didnʻt eat there so Iʻm not sure how the food is...We did get a pizza from the pizza place right next to the restaurant and it was pretty tasty. They have a store in the hotel lobby that sells some food and souvenirs if you forget to bring stuff along. The place is kind of dated and could definitely use some upgrading but it was clean and the river was really nice. The only real negatives are the TV in the room which was super small and only had a few stations that worked and you will need to pay for internet service and it costs $9.99/day for only 2 devices so if you have more then 2 devices you need to buy another package. If you are visiting Yosemite and are not staying in the park then this hotel is the best place to stay since itʻs the closest to the park.

If you could give zero that’s what this motel deserves. The staff are rude, lazy and deceitful. The rooms are dated and filthy. The first room we were give clearly had dogs in it the previous night, the bed linen was grey and dirty, you could see dog hairs on the sheets and the bed smelt like wet dog. The pet had obviously used the bath as a toilet as you smell urine in it and it was stained. Furniture was broken. Second room they have us was cleaner but still very dated and the linen was still dirty looking. Air conditioner didn’t work. When we attempted to speak to staff on the phone they told us they can’t help us as they are busy and short staffed, so we went over to the lobby and asked to speak to the manager, we are still waiting. Made extra charges to our credit card without advising us or asking for approval. Do not stay here, move on

This was our second stay here, the first was nine years ago. We had a similar room overlooking the river at the back, you almost feel at one with nature in these rooms. The rooms are spacious, well fitted out and a great place to return to after a day in the park. Good facilities for cooking if you want to cook in the room and dine in the balcony. There’s a great gift shop and limited supplies in the couple of shelves where foodstuffs are stored. There is a much better stocked supermarket just down the road at El Portal.

The hotel is dated although we expected worse based on the reviews on this website. We felt they have been replacing some furniture, at least in our room. The staff at check-in was rather uninterested which made us feel not very welcome. The restaurant and pizzeria on the premises are OK but you feel robbed by the incredibly high prices (and we were used to some high prices when visiting hotels nearby Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, Death Valley). As we read about the high breakfast prices and poor quality of the breakfast buffet on this website, we brought our own breakfast (not bought in the expensive on premise supermarket) and enjoyed breakfast at our room, which worked well given the small kitchenette. We had a room facing the (busy) road to Yosemite so that is not very quiet. We did enjoy having a little balcony to sit on. The room contains a small kitchen which is nice, but it is too bad that you only receive 2 pots of coffee where we stayed for 2 nights so preferred to have some more. No cleaning or re-stocking received for those 2 nights. The fact that you have to pay for wifi was very weird to us. We had OK phone-reception and internet-access in Yosemite NP, the reception disappeared 50m before reaching the hotel. The 'remoteness' of the area can therefore not be the argument for charging extra dollars.
