Lodge is located more like 30 minutes from the park than 10 as some people are saying ( possible speeding, which many people do there). It is the second lodge on the road from Yosemite. Closer one is Yosemite View Lodge. Cedar Lodge is a huge complex of rooms, with pools and river access, small store within and restaurant. We...

This hotel is located close to the yosemite national park. It is priced accordingly. On an absolute scale it is poor value for money, but relative to other yosemite hotels it is similarly priced, and you are unlikely to find anything much cheaper. The facilities are ok, the rooms feel dark, dated , and faded, but they do the job....

We stayed 3 nights at the Cedar Lodge and I feel for the location and as close as it is to the park it was a very good deal. The only negative I could find was that the room did not have a clock and I didn't bring my travel clock. The room was clean and the beds very comfortable....

We stayed there 14-15 may 2012 in room 219. That night my friend was bite at her hand but we was not sure much. But when we drive back to home during the way we was bite more. Bed bugs in room hide in ur stuffs. It is so horrible that we have to clean and dry clothes and wrap...

This is a two-story multi-building motel property in El Portal, 10 minutes from Yosemite's west entrance. It provided an affordable alternative to pricey in-park lodges. The room was spacious, clean and included a refrigerator for travel snacks & beverages. There is no cell phone reception in this part of the Merced river valley. (Excellent cell service in the park, however.)...

When we arrived, the room we were supposed to stay had the bed dismentaled so we asked for another room. Already this was suspicious. In the second room, we had a double queen bed and got bitten by bedbugs (visible!) in the night so we requested another room at 3 am. The third room we occupied had bedbugs also, so...

My husband, daughter, grandson and I stayed here to visit Yosemite. The motel seems to rely on its proximity to the park to keep it in business. We requested a non-smoking room but the block where our room was had originally been allocated for smokers (there was a notice to that effect), we could smell smoke in the soft furnishings....

Comfortable rooms but no coffee pot. Two restaurants -- almost identical menu. Ate in both. One is pricier than the other -- you pay for the ambience and service. Food okay - not great. Service was excellent at the pricier one. Unfortunately, that one was closed on Sunday night! As a result, the cafeteria-style restaurant was packed with not enough...

Pleasant spot, but missing lots of amenities--no microwave, no wi-fi in rooms, no coffee maker, no hair dryer, no cell service, plus an outrageous $9/day charge for wi-fi in the lobby. 6 miles west of El Portal, so you're further from the Park and you're stuck with the over-priced mediocre restaurant or the mediocre motel grill. A bit run-down. Nice...

This is about as close to Yosemite Valley as you can get without staying in the park. Only Yosemite View is closer to the entrance near Yosemite Valley. I highly recommend it if you do not want to camp and cannot get hotel reservations in the park (or prefer a hotel less expensive than those in the park). This is...
