Very nice Victorian Era Inn. It has some small trouble with cobwebs, but what old Victorian doesn't. If you do not like the smell of old buildings then this is not the place for you. It was a very nice enjoyable stay! Watch out for the Swan in the Jacuzzi, it has a tendency to bite when getting out of...

Thanks so much to this "nice" reviewer for sharing such a delightfully whimsical description of their stay with us. And, by the way---that golden swan "perched" in the Jacuzzi is one of our favorite, permanent "residents" here at the Eagle House. (He loves presiding over that outrageous red tub. Check him out in a picture of Room #19 on our...

The lobby had wonderful decor and was beautifully furnished. Our room overlooked the street and had a very comfortable bed. The adjacent attached restaurant was great as well. Overall this was well kept Inn.

What a lovely review. Thanks so much to this reviewer for giving the Eagle House (and our on-site pub/restaurant, Gallagher's) such appreciative words. We are so glad that you enjoyed your brief time spent with us---and really appreciate the kind words you've give us!

An victorian building with character: lots of high ceilings and old wooden staircases, balconies and decorations. I could easily imagine some succesfull businesspeople and distinguished holidaymakers from the 1900's walking around in this hotel. It has a pleasant old smell (wood, varnish, tapestry) if you like it. Wifi signal does not reach every nook of the building but is available...

We want to thank this reviewer (another one of our guests from all around the world,) who has made it a point during their travels to stay with us at the Eagle House. And we're certainly grateful that they obviously enjoyed their time with us so much that they decided to share that enjoyable experience here on Trip Advisor. We...

First of all, the building itself is super cool, is in a perfect location for walking around old downtown Eureka, and has been well maintained, including the ballroom which is kind of amazing. Said ballroom is in the center of the hotel and I can imagine this being a problem if it was being used while one was trying to...

On behalf of the Eagle House, I will respond to this reviewer's comments, one by one: The inn never has scheduled events in our centrally located theater/ballroom that continue any later in the evenings than 10 p.m. max (and that's only if it's when a wedding party's celebration or a fundraiser is winding down). Therefore, our guests (occupying all four...

Got a nicer room and it was clean and comfortable. Lots of antiques and charm here. Run by a rather crusty older gentleman, but conveniently located. I didn't find any funky smells and after getting a room on the third floor, was grateful for the elevator. Loved being able to open the windows and enjoy the cool evening

We want to sincerely thank this reviewer for their concise and honest review of their stay with us at the Eagle House. We always appreciate our guests' individual input concerning their personal experience, because we always want to know what it is we have to offer that makes the Eagle House (hopefully, for the majority of the travelers who choose...

The Eagle house is a 128 year old hotel. Each room is unique and special in their own way. The antiques really make this hotel special. If you want a hotel that is walking distance to Lost Coast and does not look like every other hotel this is the place for you. We stayed here on a motorcycle trip and...

Our historic Eagle House is indeed a "unique and special" place (to borrow the kind and descriptive words of this appreciated reviewer). We want to sincerely thank them for going into such specific detail about the inn itself, as well as its walking-distance location to other intriguing businesses here on the waterfront in Old Town Eureka. And, further thanks are...

This hotel has both an interesting external and internal appearance .It certainly needs updating and there is some shabbiness about it but the owners seem to be doing their best to keep the hotel functional and as comfortable as possible .We slept well there and it is very convenient for the Old Town with it's lively streets and good restaurants...

Thanks so much to this reviewer for giving us such pleasant feed-back. We are always doing our best to both maintain the inn's authentic, historic aspects while constantly "adjusting" to what has to be done to keep up with the "current" needs (such as wi-fi) of our "contemporary" guests. Our Old Town location is indeed a "lively" one (on weekends...

This hotel has so much old time ambiance. The building is Victorian style and the rooms are done nicely with vintage antiques. We had fun just exploring the building and the owner was kind enough to share much of the hotels history. Definitely worth the stay if you like a hotel with a history.

How kind of this reviewer to point out so many of the fascinating things about our classic, 1888 inn that make it the perfect, unique destination for guests (like themselves) who truly appreciate staying in an authentic, historic treasure. The Eagle House is proud to continue celebrating echos of our colorful, turn-of-the-century past that's still alive and well (and awaiting...

This 1886 Victorian is certainly not up to what one would expect for $186 cost per night. The rooms and even the elevator has the smell of too much moisture - a musty odor! Our bathroom had no cold water after a shower. It was very scary washing my face with hot water. No curtains made it difficult to sleep...

We'd like to address this reviewer's comments concerning our historic inn's room rates (they are not always in the price range they indicated); our musty smell due to "moisture" (we have addressed and explained this many times before); our hot and cold water (not sure why "hot only" but we'll look into it); and all of our rooms do have...

Whether you travel a lot or not, this is a good breakaway from your typical hotel while on the road. Authentic architecture and ambience takes you back. The place is FILLED with antiques and art.
