We're frequent travelers and have stayed in our share of B&Bs, boutique hotels, cabins in the woods, etc. I'm sorry to say that overall, we were disappointed in the Narrow Gauge Inn. John checked us in and he was superb: enthusiastic and forthcoming with lots of helpful information. But the wow factor ended there: our room just wasn't comfortable. The...

From the moment we checked in to the time we left, the service here was great! The staff is friendly and the grounds are beautiful and well kept. A real show of pride by the owners! Our room was cozy and clean, we loved the patio just outside our door! It was peaceful and a perfect place to enjoy a...

Rude maitre'd - we should have left right at the first sentence. The food was served cold....stone cold. Chicken with salad dressing over the top is NOT a worthy main course. Asperagus were overcooked and cold. Just not living up to the write up at all. Never again....5/2017.

Mrs & I have been staying here for years. It's gone through a series of owners over the years, but still remains comfy. It is a rustic little hotel. There are some things that need to be upgraded (old plumbing fixtures in the bathrooms & Poor Lighting in the rooms) but still it's a place we'll always come back to....

We were looking for a quaint homestay at the South Gate of Yosemite for Winters. And we found our perfect stay at Narrow Gauge Inn. The rooms are excellent and the staff very warm. It's one of your best stay options for winters or even summers at Yosemite.

Quaint. Everything you'd expect from a cabin in the woods! Friendly staff. Breakfast had limited options but included for free and sufficient. The restaurant was closed the day we visited so had to go elsewhere but alternatives where explained when checking in.

We celebrated our anniversary at the Narrow Gauge Inn where all the staff was delightful. Dinner in the restaurant was very good but the breakfast was sad...condiments needed. Great room by brook flowing through the property. Tasteful decorations and good bed. Chairs on deck outside room were perfect for enjoying the forest views. .

The location is fine but for what you get,the rooms are overpriced as is the "FINE DINING" restaurant. Had to send back my Venison entrée which was inedible. Things on menu that were not available which got us off to a bad start. Nothing was seasoned, overheard other tables mention the same. The bartender using notes was a nice man...

Great little hotel, rooms are cosy and have everything you need. It was a shame they don't open the restaurant for dinner during the off-peak season because you have to drive the 15-20 mins to Oakhurst for dinner every night. Breakfasts were good and the gift shop is cute!

I enjoyed staying at this hotel very much. The grounds are in the middle of the Sierra National Forest, and are very beautiful. The rooms are beautiful, and comfortable. There is a free breakfast buffet in the morning. Relatively close to the Yosemite National Park. Very cute place to visit!
