This motel offer excellent value in a high priced area. The rooms have been cosmetically cleaned up in this mid-century building. The pros are an excellent setting, - surrounded by trees, a pool and hot tub area and placement in this charming town close by multiple parks for hiking. There is a quality market across the street where you can...

We are fortunate to live just a few hours from the wine country and especially enjoy the Sonoma area. This is our first time staying in Glen Ellen and loved it! Quaint little town with several great restaurants and markets and a saloon! We stayed two nights, mid-week, mid- April. Booked through motel website and got a rate of $104.00...

We recently stayed for three nights at the Jack Londonge and it was a great experience. The rooms were clean, the towels fluffy, and there were complimentary sundries and coffee in the rooms. The grounds are beautiful and include a nice pool and hot tub. Excellent restaurants are within walking distance. We had an exceptional meal at the Glen Ellen...

In a world of too many spa resorts it's nice to find this simple little place. It's clean and has a nice pool and hot tub. Walking distance to all eating establishments. No muss, no fuss. If you want high-end modern this is not the place for you. Reservations a must. They were full even on a Sunday night.

The purpose of our visit was to spend time at Jack London State Park, so we chose our lodging based on the name and the great review. During a 4-night stay, The room was very quiet and contained lovely matching furniture. Late in our visit we discovered that the beautiful chairs were also recliners. After a full of hiking this...

I was a little worried about staying here as it is only 2 stars with AAA, but my worries were non-existent when we walked through the door to our room. It was very clean and cute. The bathroom shower was sparkling clean and the shower head was great as you could adjust the water spray - plus the water was...

We stayed in Room 9 this past weekend and had a very pleasant stay. Nice king bed. No frills room but clean. Shower / bathroom is pretty old school, but functional and fine (open the window above the shower because there isn't any ventilation so it gets steamy!). Walk next door to the bar and get treated like an old...

Stayed here on a Friday night via a Travelzoo deal. The lodge is basically a converted motel but well done. We really enjoyed the jacuzzi, but the pool was too cold to swim in. There is a bar next door that is open till 2am, so that was handy. There were a couple of nice restaurants within walking distance, so...

OK, so this property isn't new. It's in a unique period-setting location, steeped in in history. It's close to some great wineries. Fairly well kept, flat screen, nice folks, clean and comfortable. Pool and hot tub by the running creek. They know what is going on in the area and have some free tasting passes. But, be ready because it...

Not sure by definition if there is really a difference in calling a place a lodge vs a motel or even an Inn except that it is the choice of the ownership how to title it. Obviously, in naming one's property, calling it a motel is least desirable and gives the perception of bottom line basic accomodations. That being said,...
