We loved our stay. Great location. Priced Right. Wonderful old property. We were in Healdsburg for just one night to pick up our wine club order at a different location. The price was very reasonable for the area. Some places can be quite pricey. Bonus, they were cool with a single night's reservation. The location is not in the main square, but we walked multiples times for all our stops. A leisurely stroll down the dedicated paved path was very simple. Or you could simple walk on the sidewalks. Healdsburg is definitely great for walking, jogging, biking, but especially walking. Room was clean and well appointed. This is a location originally built in 1902 but nicely updated for modern conveniences. Our room (DeLorimier) specifically was nice sized although it hand angled ceilings that might not be great for someone exceptionally. The window side of the bed had this issue, you will be great at any height in the left side. Speaking of size, the bathroom was a nice size for a building of this age, but the actual shower was a bit small. Someone of a larger stature might have an issue with the corner shower. I think that was specific to our room. I know for a fact that the Suite rooms are very nicely sized with luxurious sized bathrooms. We just needed a comfortable room that was clean, safe, and welcoming. We did get a giggle about the TV in our room. Think Michael Scott from the Office and the one Jan throws a candle at. That said, we did not go there for the TV. It was actually perfect for nap time in the late afternoon to rest of from a morning of good food and wine out on the town. Pictures for other rooms shows large TV's. The angled ceilings make it difficult to place anything larger on a vertical surface. The morning breakfast was delicious. Not huge portions and a there was just one main course on the menu, but the taste was wonderful. Friendly staff. There are a number of other B&Bs and wineries associated with the property owners, many within walking distance from the Calderwood Inn. A few wineries were just outside of the central square area of town. A short drive is all you need. The general Healdsburg area is loaded with wineries. If you like Napa and want to more relaxed, old timey kind of spot, this is where you should go. Wine, Beer, Mixed Drinks and Food Recommendations: - Black Oak Coffee Roasters (Awesome banana bread and good coffee) - Healdsburg Bar and Grill - Casual food, great place for a family with kids or a friends wanting a bite to eat and some wine, beer and a cocktail. - Roof 106 is a good choice for dinner, but make a reservation. Lunch was easier for a walk-in on a previous visit. - Costeaux French Bakery is busy for breakfast on weekends but worth the wait. - Gallina D'Oro, or the Hen of Gold (formerly El Farolito) is super good mexican food. I think the name change happened in Oct 2023. - Breathless Wines if you are into the bubbly. Can't say enough about the wines, outdoor tasting area, and staff. Always a treat. - There is an endless number of places to eat, drink, and shop. Nothing has ever disappointed. …
