Magical is probably the most accurate word to describe the most wonderful 3 days my husband and I got to spend at the Northern Lights Ranch, resting from the big city hustle and bustle. We feel refreshed and inspired and definitely want to come back again!

It was perfect. The location of the ranch a few km outside of Levi in a remote wilderness makes it a perfect heaven for rest and relaxation (and for viewing northern lights if lucky on the day). The snowy landscape that greeted us everyday out of our cabin is really out of this world. Also, we had a chance to fill our days with a number of fun activities (a husky safari, ice skating, and an aurora chase), which were perfectly organised by the ranch staff before our arrival (many special thanks to Kati!).

One of the most striking features which deserve to be mentioned were the cabins with large glass panels all round the beds. It was this that made the place truly perfect for a romantic couple getaway. We were very lucky to have been able to observe the breathtaking northern lights dance across the sky from the comfort of our beds. This was definitely a bonus point, however our stay would have been magical even without such awesome luck on our last day there.

My husband and I both would definitely recommend the place for a restful and memorable holiday in beautiful Lapland.

Spent 3 nights here at the deluxe cabin with hot tub .
The ranch is very out the way , which is what I expected, the snow was a meter deep , which I was glad about, as I had originally booked to come in December but was informed that last December the snow was late coming , so I didn’t want to take the chance of there being no snow .
The cabin itself is roasting hot , we had to leave the door open a few times to cool it down . The bed was comfy & the glass roof was amazing to watch the stars under .

The restaurant was beautiful, all be it the lighting at night was a little dark , the reindeers outside the window was a lovely touch . The staff were all lovely , although there was 1 member who wasn’t as friendly I don’t think . Couple of examples , when we wanted to sit at the table beside the fire we were told that was for 4 people ( even though nobody else was there yet ) however the next couple that came in asked the same to a different waitress & was told yes that’s fine & simply moved the rest of the cutlery to another table . I had also asked about the ice chapel & if I could see inside it , 1 of the girls were so helpful telling me about how they have weddings there & how it’s built etc & to just ask for the keys & I could be shown inside it.
So I asked if I could be shown inside to the girl who had refused the table , & she insisted we couldn’t see it , it was only for those who are getting married .
Anyway we asked the next day a different member of staff & they were happy to show us it .

Meals themselves , my partner was happy with the most of the options , lots of different meats . As for myself it was very limited ,(vegetarian) mushroom risotto seemed to be the only veggie meal . Which I had 2 days in a row.
When I asked about the veggie burger that was on the lunch menu , could I have that for a change I was told no that’s only on the lunch menu . So for me the dining experience was not the best .I feel there should have been lots more options offered , & not made feel like a burden asking for soy milk or vegetarian options .

The bus shuttle was from 10am I think & picked you back up at 4 pm , I honestly couldn’t stay in Levi for that length of time , maybe if I could ski it would have been different, however we ended up paying 40 Euros for a taxi back after 3 hours . So maybe look Into a more frequent shuttle service .

Finnair did also lose my case , apparently it’s a common thing to happen , so be warned , pack ur most important stuff in a bag & take on plane with u , just incase .

Would recommend doing the huskie ride , lots of fun & the dogs are friendly as was the guide .

All that said , it is a beautiful place to visit , very expensive,
To be honest , if it wasn’t for the snow , I wouldn’t have been impressed, so the weather definitely made it for me .
The dining experience has put me off as well as the not so helpful staff member .

This is by far one of the best ‘hotels’ I have ever stayed in.
We have seen the Northern Lights Ranch on social media and decided to make it part of our honeymoon. Great decision.
The ranch is a fair distance away from anywhere, which you’d expect, so I would recommend you hire a car. It is about a 20 minute drive away from a lovely ski town, Levi.
Upon arrival, the lady who checked us in was incredible polite and helpful. She advised us on a few trips/tours which she recommend.
When we got to our cabin, it really was a ‘wow’ moment. It was perfectly sized for 2 people and the glass surrounding our ‘sleeping area’ was incredible.
The rooms were clean and we had plenty of cutlery, with a microwave. The bathroom was spot on also with a good, powerful shower.
We had a hot tub with our cabin, which I would highly recommend. There is something special about relaxing in a hot tub whilst it is -20 degrees Celsius.
The ranch provided snow shoes for us to go on a walk and there was also a fire pit and ice rink, which gave us something to do in the evening.
The restaurant had a set menu and the food was amazing. I’m so glad they did have a set menu, as what was on it was not something I’d usually go for but it tasted fantastic.
We stayed for 3 nights which we felt was perfect. It was so chilled and exactly what we wanted from the place. We were able to go into Levi during the day and did a couple of trips and then come back to the tranquil cabin.
We were very lucky that we saw the northern lights 2 out of the 3 nights we stayed there. It was an unforgettable experience and topped off an unreal stay! We will definitely be back!

We stayed at the ranch for 3 nights in December. Upon arrival we were greeted with a less than friendly receptionist which we didn’t find welcoming.
Our room was perfect and was far away from the restaurant as requested which meant we never saw anyone. We needed to use the aircon at times as the room became hot and stuffy.
The restaurant food was lovely and wait staff there were all friendly. We loved trying all the local delicacies.
We were disappointed that some activities were not the same as the photos advertise. We had seen pictures of people feeding & taking photos with the reindeer. But this wasn’t the case as the reindeer are behind a fence. We were unable to use the ice skating rink as they never took the snow off the rink during our stay.
We choose to do the optional activities like the husky ride & northern lights tour from our hotel in Levi as it was cheaper than the ranch. Therefore we could have stayed less nights at the ranch as there is nothing to do there.
Beware of the security deposit you pay on arrival. After many emails and nearly a month later our deposit was returned to us !
I think the beautiful snow would have been the highlight of our stay.

The ranch is a small hotel... under 20 rooms, but all of them are in individual cabins and are well appointed with everything you need. Two sides are fully glass as is the ceiling above the bed.... so not great on privacy but terrific for the Northern Lights which showed up a couple of nights. We LOVED this hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful and sought us out when of our experiences was cancelled. They made some other suggestions. The food is a set menu and excellent. We didn't have a bad meal in 4 days. And watching the baby reindeer outside the restaurant windows was great fun ... as was feeding them. We had room 10, which was nicely away from the main hotel area but not so far that you had a long walk for dinner. This cabin also has a hot tub which was lovely after a day out in the cold. We highly recommend this hotel if you want peace and quiet, with the opportunity to do lots of activities and a lovely environment to enjoy. We'd definitely stay again!

We came from Australia and wanted a full snow experience, we looked at a lot of the igloo type accommodation but it was small, close together with not a lot of privacy and some didn’t have a shower. The Northern Lights Ranch was perfect, the setting is stunning, we had the “cheapest” cabin but still very private and the view so stunning and amazing it’s almost hard to believe even when you are looking at it. The cabins had a private sitting area and bathroom. This was what we were looking for, it cost a lot but was worth every cent. My daughter started to cry when we walked into our cabin, it was that good. This was the highlight of nearly a month travelling through Scandinavia and Finland.

A simply stunning and magical venue. The ice chapel which is rebuilt every year is just spectacular. We would like to thank everyone working at the ranch who made our special day so perfect, our meal was gorgeous and all needs (children) well catered for. Our cabin with hot tub was amazing, especially as we were lucky enough to see the northern lights 😆 we also loved the extra free activities provided - the ice skates to skate on the frozen pond, the fire to cook your sausages (if you wanted), the snow shoes and of course a favourite with the children, feeding the reindeer.
We can not thank you enough and will 100% return for a future anniversary.

Its a beautiful place to stay with very friendly and warm staff at the resorts. We were given a thorough brief of the resorts and what we can do. The cabin is heated very well, warm floors and air cons to keep us warm throughout the stay. Love the breakfast and dinner while looking at the reindeer we get to feed earlier(can get the moss at their reception entrance). Thank you so much for the pleasant experience.

We visited Northern Lights ranch just for the afternoon after stumbling across it when searching for somewhere for my daughter to ice skate! We had lunch in the bar area which meant we were then able to try out some of the other facilities on site. The food was delicious and the bar/restaurant is very cosy and stylishly decorated with beautiful views of the snowy landscape. Skating on the little heart shaped rink after lunch as the sun went down was completely magical. There was a fire by the rink to help us warm up afterwards, and we were able to feed the resident reindeer some lichen (provided free in the reception area) before leaving. The glass cabins looked amazing, hopefully one day we will be back for a longer stay!

We loved this hotel and it’s quiet and beautiful location in the middle of nature only half an hour's drive from Levi (car rental recommended). The room had the most beautiful view and there were many nice little details in the hotel, which completed the experience: bonfire, ice rink including skates, reindeer you could feed, the most beautiful igloo, toboggan and snowshoes available etc. The staff were also very nice and helpful and all in all, we were just thrilled with the friendly Finns, the calm and relaxing pace and the beautiful nature of Lapland. We were even lucky enough to see the northern lights and the location of the ranch was perfect for this purpose. We will be back.
