We have been to Idyllwild many times over the past 30 years, and always enjoyed our stay. However, we hadn't visited in several years and soon found that places we had previously stayed were either closed or under new ownership. Inspired to find something new, we learned about the Rainbow Inn on tripadvisor. We made the right choice. At every... More

My husband and I checked-in for an overnight stay at this lovely inn last July 5,2016. As it's just a day after the holiday, we had the place to ourselves..a very elegant, clean, quiet, and with well furnished and appointed rooms. The inn and its backyard is homey with a very accommodating and efficient innkeeper/manager. His breakfast feast for us... More

This large and beautiful bed and breakfast is situated very close to the downtown area of Idyllwild. The facilities and clean and comfortable and the owners and manager couldn't be more welcoming. There is plenty of off street parking. The outdoor areas are massive and well kept. I can't imagine why you would stay anywhere else while in Idyllwild. Everything... More

My wife and I stayed here 2 nights and we hated to leave. John is such a great host and he immediately makes you feel like you're at home. I was a quality control manager before I retired and I still can't stop scrutinizing everything. The Rainbow Inn impressed me in every way. It is clean, beautifully decorated, and has... More

This place is amazing and the owner is the best. He really cares about his guests and their experience. The food he makes is so good. I went for a writing & yoga retreat and was so excited to find this gem in the mountains. I was blown away by the level of caring that he had for us during... More

We did a two night getaway to Idyllwild in the middle of April. We hadn't been there in decades, so we used TripAdvisor, and settled on the Rainbow Inn. We are so happy we did. The place is charming, and the host, John, is great. He is interesting to talk to and knows a lot about Idyllwild. He turned us... More

I cannot recommend the Rainbow Inn highly enough. I've stayed at 5* hotels around the world and yet this hidden gem is among the best places I've ever visited. John Simpson, the owner and host, is a celebrated travel photographer, whose stunning experiences adorn the walls. He's also an excellent chef and the king of hospitality. His tranquil spirit and...
