This grand little lodge is perfectly maintained, clean, warm and quiet. My daughter and I planned a little road trip to get out of San Diego. We heard of Idyllwild, only a 2 hour ride. We wanted to treat ourselves to a nice place and picked The Grand Lodge and we were so glad we

Dear Jacquelynn, We are so pleased to hear that you had a wonderful time visiting our beautiful town. Thank you so much for your kind words about our Lodge. We hope that you and your daughter can visit again; the weather service is predicting our first snowfall of the season in the next couple of days. Best, The Grand Idyllwild

This is a lovely lodge with very nice rooms and great open balconies with other areas where friends can gather. Nice views from many rooms and open spaces. The only reason I did not give this lodge 5 stars is the week day continental breakfast. There is an expectation that a B&B

Dear Sofia, Thank you so much for choosing our lodge for your stay and we are thrilled that you enjoyed the beauty and serenity of the Grand, just as much as we do. As you mentioned, the Grand has new owners; however, nothing has changed with the breakfast and all of the regular staff are still with us. We always offer fresh fruit, hard boiled eggs, oatmeal, fresh brewed locally roasted coffee, hot tea, hot cocoa and orange juice. We appreciate your feedback and want to reassure you that even though there are new owners, the attention to detail will not be forgotten. Furthermore, we will always be striving to improve, so we will review our mid week breakfast selection. All the best, The Grand Idyllwild

Arriving is wonderful and enjoyable. Leaving, you never want it to happen. That's how this all starts. Your room has a view, large fireplace, room for 3 in the shower, breakfast made on the weekends and offered continental during week days included in the price. Soft fluffy bathr

We loved our stay at the Grand Lodge! It is a beautiful location — tucked up in the trees with great views. It’s just a short walk to all the shops and restaurants in town but far enough away to feel like a retreat. It’s a treat just hanging out at the lodge. Outside there is a c

I stayed here one night en route to pick my son up from camp. Next year, I will plan to visit longer and will stay here again for sure. The owners think of every possible nice touch - nice robes, slippers and toiletries. There were nice (battery operated) lanterns flanking the fi

how much is it for one night
The prices vary. We were there over Thanksgiving, so it was probably a bit higher at that time. They have a very nice website with room rates: grandidyllwildlodge . com.

We are thinking of heading up from LA. We have done the drive to Arrowhead and it got very foggy on the mountain and was scary to drive with the curves. We would be heading up tomorrow night and wondering if it is a scary/curvy/foggy ride which would be bad to do at night?
Hi, I would take the route through Hemet, it's a little less curvy and shorter than the route from Banning, but it is still mountain roads and if it is foggy it can be slow. Just take your time and drive safe. Part of this area being so beautiful and such a special getaway is the fact that it isn't super easy to get here. We are fully booked this weekend, but if you check idylodging you can see what is still available. Thanks!

Can you please let me know the prices for the weekend of Aug 15-Aug17. Thanks so much in anticipation.
Hello, our prices do not increase for the weekends, they stay the same as to what is listed on the website under Rooms and Rates; however, we are already completely booked for those dates. We do have availability on Sunday August 17. Would you be interested in that or any other weekend? Thank you for your interest in The Grand!
