As a photographer and paranormal investigator, the National Hotel in Jackson has been on my bucket list for awhile now. Jackson, another Gold Country small town in Northern California was a delightful little getaway. The hotel staff was friendly and informative and had plenty of experiences to share. My room was clean and reasonably priced. I had plenty of picture...

The National Hotel was built in the Gold Rush era, and was restored in 2011. It is in a great location and within walking distance of several interesting antique shops and other stores and restaurants. Our room was comfortable, but dark, because there was no window, only a door to a balcony overlooking the back of the restaurant downstairs. Cooking...

This is a wonderfully restored old hotel. The staff is excellent. Everyone was always help and pleasant. There was a group of us staying at the hotel for business, they went above and beyond to provide a meeting space for our group. The manager was so wonderful to work with. The rooms were very clean, the beds extremely comfortable. I...

Beautiful well kept hotel. Antiques and a full bar. Rooms are small, barely room for a chair and small table. Overlooks the main street in Jackson. Get a room with an outside deck for people watching and a glass of wine. Parking is an issue about 300 feet from the hotel. Close to the casino.

This is a beautiful old hotel with a fantastic staff, beautiful rooms and comfy beds. I stayed in 2 different rooms while visiting a friend in the nearby hospital and I was so glad I chose this hotel over an anonymous chain motel. I was welcomed with open arms during a very stressful time. The decor is gorgeous, antiques everywhere,...

We had a Queen room on the "3rd" floor. It was not a room you could hang out in. No table or desk. Bathroom was minimal. The bar was great and Stanley's was fantastic. The bartender became our waiter at dinner. Back to the room, the bed was comfortable. We had prime rib and it was awesome . Wished I...

Jackson is truly a lovely walk downtown. This old hotel is reputed to be haunted and certainly has a lot of atmosphere inside as well as outside. There is dining and a bar inside as well. The menu looked great but I'd already eaten so didn't try it out this trip.

We really loved our 2 night stay here. Our room was really quaint with the best pillows. We enjoyed everything about the hotel, from the historical nature to the absolutely best food we had on our entire 10 day trip. Thank you Kelly for feeding and entertaining us at the Stanley Bar.

Located in the center of Jackson. It's a nice old hotel with character and nicely maintained. The room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom layout was spacious with a incredible bathtub, according to my wife. Perfectly located to enjoy downtown Jackson. Something different, the front desk cleck showed us to our room, nice. The reason I didn't give them a...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The National Hotel has just completed a four million dollar renovation and updating, while maintaining the grand dame's wild west, gold country roots. Rooms and public areas have many of their original fixtures (phones & lighting) and furniture. All rooms are luxury, many with jacuzzis, balconies, heated floors, fireplaces and so much more. Most of the 150 year old bar has been kept in tact and now is an elegant venue for meeting and imbibing, or while waiting for your table at our fine dinner house. ... more   less
