Stayed here for a brief mini-honeymoon, and we were both extremely happy with the choice. Our suite (#5) had a careful, personal feel throughout, including a (fully functional!) antique record player and an Eames chair in the bedroom. My only regret is that we were in and out quickly, it would be a lovely place to spend a whole quiet...

Mojave Sands is our FAVORITE place to stay when we come to Joshua Tree. The perfect mixture f privacy and relaxation. Do yourself a favor and spend the little extra cash for the suite. “Colors explode, sharp shadows – a black window shattered by the desert sun, jagged blacks, jittering whites and yellows, greens.” Robert Cabot The Joshua Tree 1970 It is fair to say that we felt a level of trepidation driving down 29 Palms Highway and knowing that our destination was a Palms Highway address – the architectural style of the Johsua...

This is our new favorite place to stay. Very relaxing, beautiful decor, cozy room, awesome commom area, very clean, very accommodating. And, the best smelling soap and shampoo. Very easy access to the park and food and stores are within 2 minute drive. Private parking lot. If we ever make it back to Joshua Tree, we will be staying here.

We were very impressed by all the work that went into restoring this old style road-side hotel. Endless iron work and countless details were added to make this location truly a unique stay. The fully enclosed parking and courtyard area made it feel as though we were in our own private compound. My only complaint was the piercing whirl that...

Stayed there for a night with six guys, we took a few rooms, they only have five rooms anyway. The rooms are designed retro, and I mean to the last detail. They have an old record player in each room, with real cool records, from my time. Susan has done a great work and keeps the place tip top. We...

I spent a night at the Mojave Sands after a few days of climbing and hiking in the national park and found it to be a tasteful and comfortable spot to recover and rest. The room was well appointed, the staff was friendly and the fountain in the courtyard outside my room gave my room a delicious white noise soundtrack....

Susan checked us in and gave us all the info we needed to orient ourselves. The suite was spacious and the whole place is crafted out of beautiful materials and the design is quite modern. Concrete, steel and glass. Nice interior decorating. Quirky design elements make it not quite private enough, although we were the only ones there so it...

Ok, this place is Instagram gold. I spent 3 minutes unpacking and 45 darting about taking pictures of the place before the sun set behind the Joshua Tree mountains. I'm now writing this overlooking the fairylit central garden and listening to old Staples Singers vinyl on something called a 'Califone'. Brilliant. Having just stayed at the Ace Hotel in Palm...

The Mojave Sands is a lovely hotel in a beautiful setting. It did fall short on a couple items listed on their website - my room lacked the toaster and bose sound dock. The remote to open the gate did not work (checked with neighbors and they had same experience). This is only a problem if you want to leave...

The doors, windows, bed frames, hardware and some of the furniture, were created either on-site or by local crafts people. Reclaimed wood, steel and other materials were used wherever possible. There are two large suites with kitchens and steam showers and three unique, comfortable single rooms with queen beds. Each room has a private patio and water fountain.
