We went to the Sat Nam Fest (a kundalini yoga festival) here. We camped. The camping is in the desert, no shade or protection from the elements, maybe a 1/4 mile downhill from the buildings. They had clean port-o-potties set up, but I did not see any permanent toilets The shower building is in the far west corner of the...

This is an amazingly spiritual place - picture a vortex like Sedona. Large group rooms that are perfect for sacred ceremonies and meditation. It was built for that purpose. Very dark skies -- perfect for stargazing. Has a fantastic spiritual bookstore and gift shop that is a must visit in its own right. Love the vision and history of this...

I was at this site for the 4th annual Contact in the Desert event. I worked as a volunteer at the event, so camping was comped for my service. I pitched my tent at the Light Post camp area. Although there were porta poties positioned for the conference, there weren't any in the camp area. The JTRC seemed a bit...

I went to Joshua Tree to take some classes in my Shamanic Studies certification. Was told all about the 'peace and tranquility' of the place. Unfortunately, on Thursday night, a music festival set up about 50 yards from my cottage. The music was so loud my windows were shaking until well in to the night. For 4 nights. Thurs-Sun. Not...

I have been visiting this place since 2010. I have seen this place grow. Lots of investments have been done. Even a pool, hot tub! The gardens look impeccable, rooms are clean, great hard beds, airco and heating available in de lodges, apartments. And yes a lot needs to be improved too ... I never come here for the part...

The retreat center is located on about 400 acres. It is very beautiful. It is also located very close to the National Park which is a must visit. The staff is very helpful. Lots of wildlife on the property. Including Roadrunners.

I attended the May 2015 Contact in the Desert conference at the Joshua Tree Retreat Center. The grounds are beautiful, and the center offers plenty of areas to enjoy the nature, including a lovely labyrinth, medicine wheel and meditation spaces. The buildings and program rooms are decent, but they’re old and in obvious need of updating and repair. The plastic...

We took a brief stop to see the Frank Lloyd Wright buildings after our neighbor spent a week at a retreat and we happened to be in the area Although we were not resident we felt welcome in the little shop and were allowed to look all around just so we didn't not disturb the silence of some attendees. The...

My wife and I spent a week here and loved it. She is returning in February with a women's group. We had a great time. It was amazing being so far out away from all the distractions of the "real world" i.e. cell phones, tv, traffic, work, etc... Cannot wait to go again. We made some really good friends while...
