Clean and comfortable Walking distance to everything Love the porch swings in front of your rooms! Great staff. Local merchants within 100 ft. Don't miss the Starlite Lounge around the corner. Also check out the brewery around the corner as well.

Very knowledgable reception person who had made the motel's website a wonderful resource for finding local hiking, grocery, restaurant and nearby cultural locations. Our room was sparkling clean including the kitchenette.

Hello, Thank you for your review! It means a great deal to me when I hear that our website is helpful! So many people tend to book through third parties (Expedia, Travelocity, etc.) thinking that they represent all that we are; a horrible assumption. As the webmaster of The Kern Lodge, I try my best to get feedback from the...

Fun place, cabin style rooms. Rooms are spacious, although a little oddly laid out due to their age. My room had a kitchenette, that was more like a small kitchen. Very clean rooms, comfortable beds, nice grounds. Walking distance to most places and the brewing company is next door! I would definitely stay here again.

This acommodation was perfect! We really liked the old fashioned style. The man at check in was kind and helpful! It is located in small pure beautiful town. Near is great restaurant with best pizzas and nice pub.

The room was very cozy and comfortable, and service was great. The receptionist also helped us with the local sight-seeing and finding routes to the 100-Giants. I would recommend to friends and family!

The staff here are great and having the brewery restaurant right next to the hotel is a bonus (great food!). However the rooms were pretty awful. We could hear every move of the people next door as the walls are paper thin. Although the room was clean enough, it was so run down and the bed sank in the middle....

Hello, I'm so very sorry to hear your stay was not to satisfaction. The upper row of rooms that I suspect your stay to be in were built in 1955. I'm not quite sure what you mean by "run down", but I will agree that the rooms are rustic (which suits the Kern River Valley as a hotel in the...

Extremely well maintained and comfortable mountain cabin feel. Request rooms closest to office, #108 and higher for quietest experience. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Very close to grocery store and laundry.

Our stay at the Kern Lodge exceeded our expectations for a clean and comfy place to stay. The staff accommodated us and our two, older dogs, very well. We love this place and will be back to room 203 as soon as we are able.

I got lucky when I pulled into this place. Very nice room with beautiful woodwork and a comfortable bed! Great location! Near a micro brewery for meals & libations. I will be back someday to this amazing area & quality accommodations!

I stayed here with some friends as a stop-over on our way to Death Valley. After staying, we decided to plan a full weekend stay to ride the local roads... I stayed in 112. The room was much larger than I expected, with a kitchen, large bathroom, and a patio with a grill out back. It was clean and comfortable....
