We found this gem of a place after looking at the reviews on Tripadvisor. Can't recommend it highly enough. Our hosts were kind, courteous and very amusing. Breakfast is great: three courses every morning, fruit, savoury and sweet. It was enough to keep us going until late afternoon when we could enjoy either the complimentary cheese and wine or the...

While the person we worked with was amazing, Margaret, the owner has a policy of charging a 20% sircharge for all groups booked into the hotel on the rooms! This is simply outrageous, and something that was not disclosed at the time we chose the hotel for our group event. Paying a 20% gratuity for breakfast and appetizer service seems...

I agree that Margaret is amazing and we value her as the Manager/Innkeeper of the inn. That is why I am concerned that you are disturbed by the 18% gratuity/surcharge ( not 20% as you stated in your review ) which Margaret pointed out to the representative when she was inquiring about reservations for the group. Margaret also underlined the...

We have stayed at this inn for our vacation week many times and in different rooms. We have even brought friends and stayed for a week. My husband and I use to live on the east coast and it was our special place to stay when we visited our son. He lived in La Jolla with 5 friends when he...

We value our loyal guests who return to visit with us over the years. Unfortunately, I was unable to establish a history of your visits with us over the last 5 years in our innkeeping system as you claim. But we are sorry that we appear to have regressed in our quality of maintenance since your last visit. However, if...

We were at the B&B for 6 days. LaJolla is a gorgeous area, and the B&B truly is a wonderful gem tucked away in between churches, so it's very quiet. It's literally across the street from the contemporary art museum and within walking distance to a lot. Margaret, the manager, was simply charming (she's the one with the great Irish...

The Bed & Breakfast Inn of La Jolla was a lifesaver, the day my neighbors phoned to tell me their house was to be tented for termites that very afternoon. I was leeward of westerly winds and fearful they would blow the escaping gas right onto my property. (Of course, I know it quickly dissipates, but why take chances?) I...

Just loved our weekend getaway at this charming property. We stayed in the Holiday Suite, equipped with a roaring fireplace, large canopy bed, and wonderful amenities. Three journals logged the previous adventures of other travelers. It was delightful reading these passages. I was impressed with the care and finesse with the breakfasts that were prepared, and a chance to mingle...

Not to repeat other comments, this Inn has the best features of a cozy but great B&B, wonderful location, comfortable accommodation with well thought details, inspire of a bit overdone old fashioned decor, delicious food and, surpringly or not, intelligent and diverse guests to exchange tips about wider area, discuss travel or even politics (!) and finish the Sunday NYTimes crossword...

I booked the Windansea room for a 3-night getaway. This was my first time staying in a b&b, so I didn't know what to expect! Upon my arrival, I was greeted by the lovely innkeeper, Margaret, who led me to my room. She is very nice and helpful. The room was very comfy and nicely decorated--just like in the pictures....
