What a great place to stay! Staff was very nice and cottage was so quaint! Was not expecting anything as nice & comfortable as this. Just be careful of the driveway coming in. It's very steep at the beginning and can scrape the bottom of your car. Will definitely be back again!

Loved this place. Close enough to walk to beach, but away from high traffic areas. Loved quiet mornings out on the patio. Cottages were very "homey". Each cottage that our 3 family group stayed in was unique from the others. Definitely would stay again.

Oh, What a Find! A Treasure hidden away form the crowded highrises that protect it from discovery. Yes! and parking space at the pathway to cozy cottages, modern, fully equipped but clearly of a quieter era snuggled beneath trees. Fresh air through the windows in the day, a cozy electric fire place in the morning. Five minute walk to the...

We recently stayed in the pricey 3-BR "cottage" here. First of all, the term cottage, to me, seems like a self-contained house. Unfortunately, that was not the case here, and a large extended family shared a 2BR which was directly OVER our unit. These places are not well insulated, and we heard EVERYTHING! They rose at 6:30 AM and went...

I recently stayed in the Redwood Hollow cottages for the first time, based on a recommendation from a friend; my oldest is attending UCSD, so I thought I would check it out. I stayed in the one bedroom Wisteria cottage and it was lovely! This is a beautiful group of cottages, originally built in 1915, and updated over the years...

We stayed at Redwood Hollow for four days between Christmas and New Year's. It was a great birthday celebration for my husband. Accommodations were good in our studio apartment with comfortable bed and adequate kitchen for breakfasts there. We walked a lot each day, to the beach, to the town, to meals and just for the fun of it-- averaged...

Location is outstanding. Overall nice, clean, helpful staff - but missing quite a bit. I would absolutely not recommend this as a place to stay with kids. There is NOT a shower in the master bathroom - and the only tub is lacking a plug - but worse, the paint is peeling off the inside of the tub. Not just...

Thank you so much for your review. We do find it helpful when guests are not completely satisfied so we can make any adjustments and corrections where needed. You are correct that there is not a shower in the master bathroom, and we don't advertise as such. This particular cottage has 2 bathrooms, one of which has a shower, and...

I just returned from a weekend at the Redwood Hollow Cottages, and didn't want to leave! This is a gem in bustling La Jolla, situated in the quiet residential end of Prospect Street, and just a short walk to the beach. I stayed in Whispering Pines, which was quite roomy with a large and well-stocked kitchen and bath. There was...

We were looking for a relaxing, private, mini vacation, near the coast, away from "typical hotels" we both stay in for work travel. A place we could just enjoy hanging around, if we felt like it. Redwood hollow was the perfect retreat for us!! It was everything we had hoped for: charming, quiet, relaxing, comfortable very clean and in a...
