This is a lovely quirky place to stay. The cabins are great, the hot tub in the trees was amazing, there's plenty to keep you amused, the breakfast toast bar at the weekend is well tasty and the staff were very helpful.

This was our second stay at the Andiron and it did not fail to disappoint. This time around we stayed in the Travel cabin (previously we stayed in the Art one). Both are fantastic, and well-decorated. Peaceful and secluded retreat.

Hi Barbara, not sure what you mean by guesthouse -- the Andiron has a set of cabins (individual units). The town center of Mendocino is not walkable from The Andiron's cabins, there's a highway and it'd be dangerous. The Andiron is a small boutique type Inn so I don't believe they have a shuttle like larger hotels or chains. (I've never seen a shuttle.) Most people who rent the cabins have their own car. What you may lose in modern convenience you gain in delightful rustic character, if that's your thing.
