Big clean room, secure parking, and helpful staff. The only bad thing I could say, is there is a slight musky feel to the place. But the windows open and fresh air takes care of that. I would definitely stay here again if in the area. Big clean king size bed was very comfortable.

The hotel was clean, small and quiet with generous sized rooms. Located in a mixed residential/commercial neighbourhood but central if you want to access different parts of L.A. (outside of west hollywood). Staff were friendly and helpful. I loved how the windows opened for fresh air or I could control the air conditioning on really hot days. The hotel met...

We have stayed here a few times and do like the rooms. The beds are comfortable and they have off street parking. However, it can get crowded in the underground parking and they charge now. It is in primarily in a residential area but is a quick walk to the commercial areas.

The area is nice, quiet and safe. There are a lot of restaurant with in walking distance. Our room was spacious and had big bathroom as well. The wifi connection was good. The only tiny hassle was that if you go out and come back after 21h you need to call them in order to open the entrance door for...

I think expectations are everything. We wanted a simple hotel-- clean, good location, safe. We got that at the Shelter. Nothing fancy but overall quiet and clean. We got 2 joining rooms for my family of 5. We wanted to do the whole Korea town experience and everything is very close. Very pleased with our stay. We would definitely come...

The room is rather spacious but had a musky smell; not too much of a problem though. Room is clean and with a king bed. All booking sites states free parking but not anymore. Hotel charges $10 per day. Parking garage gate closes 9pm every night so be prepared to call the reception to open the gate (roaming charges? Or...

Decent stay for the price we paid. The property looked maintained . Some reviews stated it was in a bad neighborhood. But it really wasn't all too bad. We walked to a really good Korean BBQ restaurant which was only about 2 blocks away. I highly recommend it. (Kang Ho-Dong Baekjeong Korean BBQ ) You can get to the lobby(1st...

Nice hotel, good located, but they charge triple parking fee than announced and booked car size as reason, but no diffrent parking slots, so no logic behind. The room is ice and clean but smells awfull , first after desinfectant later after old muddy water, air condition is extremly loud even from neighbor rooms, a challenge to sleep. Hotel finally...

When I checked into my room, it had been recently sprayed with a pleasant spicy aroma. For me that means a migraine in the near future. When I called the front desk, they immediately gave me another room that was fragrance free. I will return to The Shelter. It's clean, modern and comfortable without a lot of frills (no water...
