We moved from one really terrible area to vagabond. Not much better. But we had a rule not to walk to far. Hollywood suburbs are poor & desperate. I would think if u go 1st class is ONLY OPTION. We had kids & it felt completly unsafe in hollywood Ok the hotel! It appears clean. But dont dig behind beds....

The motel is located on Vine, but it is a long walk to get to Hollywood Boulevard. The neighborhood is seedy, and this is not a place where I would walk down the sidewalk by myself. The room was comfortable enough. I did not see any bugs as others have suggested. The price is right for a night or two....

Disgusting! Not worth the money. Was only there for one night and woke up the next day with my inner arm and part of my face and neck covered in bed bug bites! I think the pillow or the sheets were infested because my friend slept on top of the comforter and with a different pillow and didn't have a...

Breakfast was cool, all the rooms smelled like water got on the carpet and soaked it. Pool was in a corner and had a camera pointed right on it, which felt weird if the front desk was watching my girlfriend in a bikini... but I think the worst part of my stay is when the front desk called me an...

I was booked for two nights but stayed only ONE night after getting bitten by bed bugs and seeing the unsavory neighborhood. The management insisted they renovated and cleaned the bed bug problem. I was scared to venture out in the neighborhood alone as a female and I witnessed what appeared to be prostitution occurring on the grounds. I took...

Not much more to say. Room 206. Stayed two nights and was taking night-time cold medication so I was pretty well passed out. Didn't start to notice the itching until the night I returned from my trip. Probably 200-250 bites appeared on my arms and back.

The hotel didn't seem too bad til I woke up in the morning, and beheld roaches crawling all over the walls. I decided never to stay at this hotel ever again. I've stayed in nice Vagabond Inns elsewhere in California, such as the excellent ones in Palm Springs and Long Beach. It's an excellent chain, but they ought to revoke...

Vagabond was a last minute booking for our Hollywood stay and for the price we were satisfied with the room we had. It's close to most things and free parking and wifi (although the wifi is a bit temperamental at times). Free breaky which is pretty good. All in all a good stay.

Staying in Hollywood

Neighbourhood Profile
Hollywood
Hollywood undoubtedly conjures up images of movie stars and high-end lifestyles, and to this day, tourists flock here from around the world to see the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre and to catch a glimpse of the famed Hollywood sign up close. Celebrity impersonators and crowds give these areas the feeling of an amusement park while many clubs and hotels fill up around the weekends for late-night partying - the Hollywood club scene is a haven for thumping music and table-side bottle service. But parties aren’t the only way to enjoy this area, many visitors come to the neighborhood to sit back with a picnic to watch a performance at the Hollywood Bowl and those looking to stay fit trek along nature trails in the Hollywood hills and in Griffith Park.
