Service was great, all staff were super friendly. Room was nice, very clean, simple. I had a Queen room with en suite. Location was perfect for me, close to plenty but away from harsh traffic. I walked pretty much everywhere. Rooms did echo and could hear the cleaners in other rooms in the morning, however this wasn't a big issue....

Very close to the beach in Venice and not so far away from Abbot Kinney Boulevard (restaurants, shops...). The Penthouses on the top of the building are amazing : spacious and sunny. Percfect for a family or a little group of friends. The classical rooms on the first floor are very nice and comfortable. Aésop products in the bathroom are...

I booked one night at The Rose for early May 2017. It was a really last minute booking, so I wasn't expecting much, but we were really surprised at how beautiful and chic the hotel was. We had to book a sharing bathroom room as there was nothing else left, and I was worried about this at first but I...

This cute stylish hotel made our stay at Venice Beach extra special. The muted tones, 50's beach house vibes, fashion photography on the walls, original features, Aesop toiletries and spacious rooms made us feel ultra chilled out. The coffee and fresh croissants with delicious jam were just perfect. We hired bikes one day and the staff were all gorgeous, friendly...

The Rose is a cute, design-focused hotel in a great location. I loved the chic, beachy vibes it gives off and would definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area. It's perfectly situated a block from the colorful Venice Beach, but also close to the restaurants and shops on Abbot Kinney. A highlight of our trip was renting their...

I really loved the restrained style of the hotel and the perfect location on the beach in Venice. It was quiet, charming, and really unlike any other small hotel I've stayed in previously. All the staff were great, and special thanks to Kira, Sophia, Florie, and the gentleman (whose name I didn't get) for being so accommodating. They all make...

We enjoyed our stay here very much. The staff is really helpful and friendly. The rooms are nicely appointed. It's an old building, so there are some flaws - fairly noisy - but the people manage to make you feel very welcome. We will definitely return. Keep on keeping on, Rose.

Stayed here just before the LA Marathon and highly recommend. Its a place I likely passed 100s of times in the area but randomly decided to stay when trying to find something decently priced in Venice and proximate to Santa Monica. Clean rooms and friendly staff, just a few feet from the beach. Parking seems like a challenge but is...

I traveled to LA for business for 3 months and chose the Rose Hotel every time. I was attracted to the Rose because it was literally one half block walk to the beach and boardwalk. I would get up every morning to see the sunrise from the beach, go to my client site for 8 hours, then back to the...

Staying in Venice

Neighbourhood Profile
Venice
Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.
