I have reserved a medium room. After a late arrival after 10pm, I moved into a room, floor down. Unfortunately, very noisy road works are going on the street, just below my windows..After a big day of work, it's frustrating. Go back to concierge Desk, explain my trouble. Concierge offers me another room ... And not "a" room, but "the"...

If you plan on staying in downtown LA this is a good option. The hotel has large rooms that I would classify as boutique-ish. The bed is on an extended pedestal about a half step high. Plugs but no USB ports that I saw. One curtained enclosed area houses an iron and small ironing board along with hangars and shelves....

Seamless check-in with Valet parking and the best part, our rooms were available much earlier then the standard 4pm check-in. Typically, we call and request additional towels during our stay, but not at the Standard... They have huge soft towels, which is exactly how I like it! Lastly, our room was very clean, especially the bathroom. The Housekeeping attendants were...

We've stayed at the West Hollywood Standard loads and decided to check this one out for a staycation from the valley. The staff were friendly and kind and the hotel itself is good. The rooms are not as much fun as the West Hollywood ones but the views and bath we had made up for it. And the location is...

I have stayed in a lot of hotels in my life and I work in the industry. The design of the hotel where compelling needs a small refresh - but the service was outstanding. From the moment I walked in and at every opportunity the staff was welcoming, helpful and engaged. I felt truly looked after and I will happily...

The Standard occupies the old Standard Oil headquarters, but it's anything besides staid old money corporate. It's definitely aimed at young hipsters - the glass shower in the middle of the room could be a big hit, for the right romantic getaway. Rooftop bar at sunset could make anyone feel like a million. If you've got business or culture downtown,...

The Standard is a converted office building in the financial district of LA. The rooms are rather spartan, the platform beds interesting but not practical and the glass showers interesting, if you are into that stuff. The staff at every turn were excellent! The food in the cafe and rooftop lounge was very enjoyable. The rooftop pool, craft brewery and...

I'm not sure why I ended up with a suite there (I booked a normal room) The bathroom in that thing was the size of a normal room (and the tub the size of a full size bed), and the bedroom was even larger. So, room was amazing. Retro-modern style, spotless and with nice light. Upstairs bar wasn't open during...

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.
