This was a a nice 2-night stay in May. The rooftop bar has an excellent view and great cocktails. The hotel is funky, not my usual preference stylistically, but the service and room were very good. The room was very clean and I slept comfortably.

Love this rooftop overlooking the pool. The atmosphere is great- young but not too young, mature but not too mature. The view is spectacular. Staff really knows what they are doing, can give you great suggestions on what to order and are quick to mix something up that's different and intriguing. Can be a little confusing to get up to...

The Standard has become my default hotel in downtown LA. Easy walking distance to LA Live but way better rates than the JW Marriott or Ritz. Not exactly a family destination, and the center-piece shower in the single rooms are interesting. The bar on the roof is a cool destination in itself, and staying at the Standard gets you access...

We stayed 2 nights in a Gigantic Room. Here are my pros and cons: Pros: 1. Room was indeed huge 2. Very nicely stacked mini bar (and decently priced) 3. Price was ok for the size of the room. 4. Very nice rooftop bar and biergarten. 5. Breakfast in the restaurant was pretty good. 6. If you want to be...

Hi Vikolaf! I'm glad you enjoyed so much about the Hotel, and let us know where you though we could imporve. The design in the rooms is definitely minimalist, and although we love it, we understand it's not for everyones taste. Everything in the room is custom or designer items, I promise we don't have anything from Ikea :). All...

This hotel is ultra modern, sleek, minimalist, and not what I was looking for. I was there on a business trip, and I was required to stay there, and my organization prepaid for a week. The King Large Room was spacious, white walls, white counter that ran the length of the room in front of the windows, bed was a...

What a joke, standard is a understatement. Motel 6 has better accomadations. One chair from Kmart to sit in, basically a board under the window to work or place your items on. Closet space came from Ikea, Take that back Ikea is better. Hope you don't mind everybody in the room watching you do your business in the bathroom as...

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.
