We booked to stay here for 10 days in June/July 2015 and had to leave the property after 3 days. The building had an awful musky smell to it which hits you on entering the front door. We had hope for our room though, which turned out to be awfully disappointing. The room was dirty - we went out to... More

As already mentioned, an expensive grotty Hotel, It should really be called a Hostel. Lucky for us we only stayed one night. Noticeable smell of cannabis in the corridor. Poor quality utensils in the kitchen area.

We visited LA for 4 days and booked through Hotels.com. Overall found the apartment very neat and tidy with secure parking. On the verge of Venice Beach and about 2.5km from Santa Monica Pier. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Only thing was that I thought it was quite expensive but was the summer season.

Great for an older place. Room had everything you would need including a small kitchen. The staff were very helpful and even looked after my luggage while I explored LA for the day. This is not a regular hotel, so don't expect anything flashy. Also you are RIGHT on the beach and walking distance from Santa Monica pier and Muscle... More

I was SOOOOO Pleasantlly surprised by this quaint and Adorable GEM a half a block from the beach. I had just driven 7 hrs on a whim and didn't book a hotel in advance as it was a Monday and didn't think the demand would be that overwhelming. I forgot having my little love "Gizmo" ( my little wire hair... More

We stayed at here during our stay in Santa Monica. We were highly impressed with what we were given. The Assistant manager was very polite and friendly and the accommodation was far better than we expected. We stayed in the ground floor suite on the left. The Venice Admiral Suites is nicely located to the beach and Main street. They... More

We were shocked on entering the room. It is not the room pictured. It is a very small space! Everything is quite shoddy, from the beds to miniature bathroom (the door wouldn't open all the way because it ran into the toilet). Parking is too far away and the basement garage has a 6'2" height limit, tall vehicles and car-top... More

We booked a last minute stay at this place because they offered a steep "special price". The accommodations were very sub-standard and icky. The room did not look like the pictures at all! For example, the room was so tiny there is no room for a sofa, but many photos show a sofa. The actual furniture looked like it came... More

I booked a room through Priceline and it turned out to be a nightmare. It was nowhere the 3 stars rated by Priceline and nowhere close to the beautiful photos posted on the website. Neither does it justify the $165/night (pre-tax) price tag. The room was unclean and almost dilapidated. It was so dirty that my 2 year old refused... More

We loved this place especially its location. You are literally on the boundary line between Venice Beach and Santa Monica and the beach is a stone’s throw away. It was a reasonably sized apartment with all amenities. The best thing is it feels like your staying in a friend’s home. We were both surprised how chilled we felt especially after... More

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
