The hotel itself lives up to its reputation...clean, good amenities, comfortable and good quality. However, the staff had bad attitudes and does not meet their commitments nor do they care about resolving issues. (except the valet team, they were great).

There is nothing special about this hotel but it has everything you need, clean, good location, quiet and friendly staff. The breakfast was really good so I would recommend finding a rate that includes breakfast. Alternatively there is a Starbucks on the ground floor.

Best place to stay downtown for a reasonable room rate, as long as you don't need a pool. Nice rooms that could use some updating, but great configurations for families. Restaurant is modern and has a menu with broad appeal, good for kids too.

Great hotel! Friendly service and beautiful garden area. I stayed at the doubletree over the Thanksgiving holiday week and was very pleased with the staff and service that I received. I will probably make this hotel my "LA Hotel" when visiting Los Angeles.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 days the week of Thanksgiving. Our room (#1719) was quiet and comfortable. The view overlooked the garden and city. Staff was kind and hospitable. The Metro is an easy 10 minute walk away. Access to other districts are easy to walk. We recommend this location especially if you want to be near...

We have stayed at the Doubletree LA Downtown a number of times. The service is consistently very good. The gardens is a nice oasis among the concrete jungle of downtown. The location is at the edge of Little Tokyo and has all the benefits and drawbacks of being downtown. It is close to many amazing restaurants, bars, shops and museums,...

We stayed at the DoubleTree hotel for our nearby wedding. We blocked rooms for friends and family, and booked the Presidential Suite (which is huge) for various wedding-related activities. Other than some minor check-in issues, our stay went really well! The staff and our sales manager, Ayda Ohan, were very accommodating. The rooms were clean and well-appointed. We would recommend...

We stayed one night here after arriving by train around 9 PM. Pretty spendy--and the additional fee for 'high floor, quiet room' is a rip-off--but the place is very nice, well cared for, quiet, good AC, great bed, nice bathtub and shower. Cookies are tasty, too! Lovely courtyard Japanese garden is well-cared for. We used to stay at the Miyako,...

The hotel was great. A block over is Skid Row so be careful at night. The hotel views were amazing and it was moderately clean. I like things to be scrubbed clean and it could have used a little more of that. Additionally, during my stay the elevators were SLOW. Not fun to wait for. The staff is helpful but...

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.
