Union Station is within walking distance from the hotel which gives you either Bus or train connections to Long Beach. The easiest way probably would be to stay near LAX and book your transportation thru Princess for a stress less and seamless commute. You can do it with multiple connections, but it would take time and effort when you are supposed to be enjoying yourself.
I took Greyhound to Long Beach and took Uber to the port and it was easy and quick.
