Our room was bathed in surf sounds all night long for a very soothing couple days on the beach in Malibu. Restaurant offers fresh spa type food choices, there is a great gym across the street with privileges from Malibu Beach Inn. Will definitely return.

A beautiful hotel going through an upgrade but you would never know it. All the rooms are ocean view, the staff is all so personal and attentive, the restaurant has wonderful choices and they have a terrific wine list. Would recommend it for a relaxing weekend with walks on the beach.

A very nice beachfront, luxury boutique. Almost like a mini Four Seasons in terms of quality. Your are literally on the beach. Views from the room are stunning. A 10 minute walk up the beach to Soho House and Nobu.. Pricey but worth it for a splurge. A great place to come for a romantic weekend I would imagine. I...

As we were only in Malibu for one night on our US road trip, I thought I'd treat Liz and me to a night in a room with a view - and what a fantastic view and room it turned out to be. We had a Queen Ocean Front room with it's own private balcony looking straight out on to...

My recent stay at Malibu Beach Inn was my second time at this property for a short stay. The hotel is situated overlooking the ocean on Carbon Beach and has fantastic views. I was given a room with a fire place that is perfect for a chillier weather stay. I had a nice balcony on this visit which was really...

Hard to beat the location. We were very much disspapointed by Malibu but the hotel provided us with a beautiful enclave in a place that is basically not more than a massive highway surrounded by terrible architecture. Comfortable rooms with a nice balcony with the best possible ocean views make you forget the ugly environment. Beach staff is wonderful. Great...

My wife and I recently toured Southern California for our Anniversary. The entire trip was wonderful and we stayed at beautiful extravagant hotels the entire time. But the highlight came when spent the last few days of our trip in Malibu. We had planned to only have lunch at this hotel to enjoy the awesome ocean view as seen from...

The room was excellent with the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in. Since there was only two of us the room seemed to be the perfect size with a balcony and view of the ocean. I can't image anyone going to a hotel by the beach who doesn't want to hear the sound of the ocean. We were...

I have stayed here many times over the years since it first opened. It is consistently excellent. The staff, rooms, beach, food - always suburb. I would highly recommend this quiet resort. I continually look forward to returning!

Staying in Malibu

Neighbourhood Profile
The Malibu coastline is like a chameleon. In some areas it resembles the French Riviera with its lush, green hillsides descending into crescent-shaped shorelines. In others, it feels 100% Southern Californian with beaches wide and flat as a football field, and often crowded with beach-goers lounging on towels and playing volleyball. Other coastlines still feel secluded, tucked under tall cliffs and dotted with stunning rock formations. In certain areas, where the ocean waves are just right, surfers can be seen bobbing in the water. Up in the mountains to the east hikers take in truly stunning views of the ocean and the sprawling Los Angeles landscape. And along Pacific Coast Highway, restaurants are filled with visitors and locals from all walks of life. Stumble into the right place at the right time, and you’ll likely encounter a celebrity.
