This is the closest to the beach that I have ever had to honor to sleep by. IT WAS AMAZING! The beach is clean, but rocky. I wore water shoes the whole time. Each site comes with a picnic table, fire pit and parking by the site. I'ts truly convenient. Bring a Canopy! There is absolutely no shade. They have portable...

Last week my husband and I joined our daughter and family at Thornhill Broome Campgrounds. Such a fun experience. The campgrounds were clean, people were friendly, and dogs were allowed to be with us. Our two golden retrievers just loved it too! Although it is a primitive campgrounds, we had motorhomes and everything was great! There were others in tents...

There are not a lot of places where you can camp directly on the beach (at least officially). This was a great experience. We put up our tent close to the ocean and experienced and a great sunset. It was soothing hearing the waves at night. Make sure to attach your tent properly (ideally using big stones) since it can...

Campsite is a great location right on the beach and each site has a picnic table and fire pit, which was great. Unfortunately when we visited they didn't mention that the water was turned off so their was no showers or fresh water available to wash hands or drink. The chemical toilets are disgusting, never cleaned and often out of...

We read good reviews for this campground, so decided to give it a try. We were very disappointed, but made the best of it. While you do get to camp right on the sand, the campground itself is very primitive. There are port-a-potties, no showers, and the potable water spigots are turned off (we assumed because of the drought). When...

Beautiful place for camping right on the sand. A big spacious long beach to relax on and soak up the sun. Bathrooms are bad but there is a faucet at entrance of camp. Sadly all the beaches in this area have rocks under the surf. So once you brave walking out on them swimming is fine, but body surfing and...

Be aware it's a rocky coast line and super windy. But it was fun putting our tent right on the sand. Many RVs are here. We travel with our children (6,3&1) this is not a beach for children to swim rip is very strong and again coast is rocky. Kids loved throwing rocks into the water.

This is my absolute favorite camping spot in all of Southern California. This site is primitive, so no running water or flush toilets, but you do not camp next to any RVs, this is a tent only site. You get to pitch your tent directly on the sand. The sun sets over the water and the city lights are far...

What a great place to spend a night or two on the beach. We are from UT and got a campsite here on a whim. It ended up being a really fun night! The camp sites are 20 ft from the ocean and include a fire pit, picnic tables and bathrooms (portapotties). I would recommend bringing something for shade to...

“If you are tent camping, stay in the northern-most spaces that have bluffs that offer wind breaks and slightly more privacy than the southern spaces. You might also be able to wriggle a small travel trailer in there too.”
