We stayed here on the first leg of our Cali road trip . After picking up a muscle car at LAX almost killing a few cyclists on route we decided to look for somewhere to stay ( not the simplest thing at half 10 at night) after several failed attempts our last hope was the jolly roger and it didn't...

Nice place. Lovely garden in the middle. Excellent value. Some charming little quirks here and there -- e.g., a sign, "On this spot in 1892, absolutely nothing happened." Decent breakfast. I'd stay here again.

My family and I stayed here one night. The staff was friendly and the glass elevator was cool.. There was a lot of loud people in a room with the doors open and just felt a little ghetto. The pool is across the street! LoL. I didn't get bit by bugs or robbed so I could just be being picky

My wife and I stayed at this motel on a last minute weekend trip to the beach. The check in was easy and the room was good size and clean. The motel is a short walk to Abbott Kinney Blvd which is touted as a good stgreet for walking, shopping and eating. We walked the street on day and were...

Management was very nice when I arrived, the room was perhaps simple - but spacious and clean. In walking distance of Marina Del Rey and Venice. Great WiFi, simple breakfast. The place my friends in Venice recommend to their visiting friends - would stay here again.

I don't like to review without pointing out the positives and negatives. Negatives: The fridge didn't work properly due to the huge lump of ice that had built up at the back. The road was very noisy. The WiFi was a bit hit and miss and it’s a long walk to Venice Beach and good restaurants. Positives: The continental breakfast...

This hotel has very friendly helpful staff, they outlined all the places near by and how long it takes to get to each attraction. The breakfast is good, parking is easy, rooms are well equipped and comfortable.

Visited venice beach for 4 nights on January. The JR motel was well placed with free parking. Hotel was basic with good wifi but no frills. Room was well sized with microwave and fridge and everything was well kept and clean. For a budget motel, it fits the bill.

Stayed here for 13 days from December 24, 2015-January 5, 2016. It is pretty safe to walk around in the evening and 3 bus stops are located within walking distances. The breakfast was complimentary which was very nice. Maria was there every morning to help us get hot water and refills of bread, jam and syrup, etc. She was very...

Staying in Venice

Neighbourhood Profile
Venice
Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.
