I have to admit I have been to very few B&B's in the past, so I cannot speak comparatively, however I just couldn't believe how many positives an accommodation could gather. The beauty of the location, its isolation, the warmth it exudes and most of all the friendliness of the staff. Everything was fairytale perfect. I may be exaggerating but...

We enjoyed 2 lovely nights at this quiet hideaway. The accomodations were extremely comfortable and we loved watching the numerous hummingbirds while dinning. Hope to return sometime!

I stayed here with my friend this past weekend and I couldn't have been happier. It was very clean and quiet. Mike and Lizzie are so sweet, as well as their son James. They were all very helpful with directions and information for the park and if I needed anything they were more than accommodating. I will definitely return to...

This is a place where mostly couples frequent. I was traveling solo and it was perfect! Michael and Lizzie were more than accomodating. It was the perfect combination. If I ever needed anything at all, they were within reach...but were never suffocating. It was as though I had moved into a good friends place for the weekend. I was very...

This is a charming house, giving you a warm feeling inside with an idyllic surrounding. The forest retreat room is massive, with a huge bed and a spacious bathroom. We saw a deer passing by the garden, but this is quite common for the locals apparently. It is a peaceful place, and we recommend staying during the day a bit...

We spent a couple of days in Yosemite following a conference. Staying at Highland House was a highlight. Directions were good and the welcome was very warm ... and the size and taste of the muffins was incredible. Wildlife galore and complete silence other than the sounds of local wildlife. Breakfast? Wonderful. The smell of home cooked food wafting through...

If you are planning a trip to Yosemite and need a fabulous place to stay you would be insane not to book with the Highland House B&B. Centrally located just 6 miles from the town of Mariposa the B&B is about 30-45 minutes from both entrance gates to yosemite. The drives to both gates is picturesque and relaxing. The B&B...

It usually happens that, whenever one is making a leisure trip including several stops, one decides to stay to spend a night in a certain convenient place just to rest for the night and then to continue next morning, right? Well, this is what we did in this case, because we were on our way to Yosemite coming from San...

My family stayed at Highland House in the two smaller rooms on a Wednesday evening. Due to the volcano in Iceland which prevented European guests from flying, we had the house completely to ourselves. Lizzie, the manager, popped in for a few minutes in the evening to check up on us, but that was it. The house was incredibly peaceful,...
