I spent a few weekends there every time me and my friends go to Kirkwood. It's an affordable motel with a the best manager ever, he is super charming and kind :) I totally recommend this place if you only want to spend the night and leave at the following morning. It provides hot shower and good location.

This motel is a good value for the price. The owner, Ron, is extremely helpful and outgoing. He clearly enjoys interacting with customers, and does everything he can to make you comfortable. Important information: the address may be Markleeville, but it is 6 miles to there, and 6 miles the other direction for other dining options. Absolutely nothing nearby, except...

This is a hard review to write as the owner of Woodfords is the nicest most accomodating person you could ever meet. But I want to set the record straight ... the other reviewers of this place make me wonder what planet they arrived from. Off season, there is no food nearby - you have to drive back to Markleeville...

The Inn is an excellent base to go hiking in the area e.g. Ebbetts Pass, Carson Pass, Echo Pass etc. and is comfortable and convenient. The owner is happy to provide new towels and coffee as you need them, but there was no housekeeping during our 4 night stay.

This is a motel so its room is nothing special but is comfortable, safe and clean. The difference here is the charming manager onsite, what a sweet guy. We stayed there three nights on and off during a wedding weekend and he was so accommodating. I wish there were more people who enjoyed their job like this guy.

If you like a quiet place with excellent management (Ron and staff) this is it. This was our 4th time that 7 of us on a motorcycle ride stayed here. In the morning we went to the Alpine Cafe (about a mile towards Markleeville.) Woodfords relative recommended it and itwas great. The cook was just firing up the stove and...

I booked a wedding party here and had an amazing experience. The owners are the friendliest people ever and were so helpful with everything. It is a very cute little hotel with clean modern rooms, free internet, and top notch service. It is surrounded by beautiful mountain views and near several cute local cafes and outdoor activities. It is a...

We love this hotel and it's owner Ron. It's not fancy but it's very clean and comfortable. With a microwave, fridge and coffee maker you don't need much more. Plus, fluffy towels. We will stay here again and again. Ron is a great guy who makes you feel very welcome.

Stayed overnight during a weeklong road trip. We were on motorcycles and appreciated the owner accomodating our request for a downstairs room. We were in room 1, a room that was recently renovated to be fully accessible. The room was spotless with a large, clean, newly renovated bathroom. The shutters on the windows felt very clean and did a good...

This is a place that knows what it is and excels at it: providing basic, clean, friendly, and affordable lodging in a quiet setting. The owner (Ron) is flexible and accommodating: when we needed a bit of ice, he offered to run up to the general store down the road and left it in a cooler waiting for us upon...
