Staying at the McCloud Hotel became an unexpected highlight of our trip. The food was phenomenal. We had two breakfasts and one dinner, and at each meal everything was delicious and perfectly prepared, from the freshly caught Steelhead from the McCloud River, to the homemade scones and granola. If they opened a restaurant in San Francisco, I'd go all the...

From the moment we walked in we felt the warmth and the loving attention to detail. The lobby is spacious and very beautiful, full of history and wooden beams, stuffed chairs, a grand staircase, and an invitation to relax. The rooms are large, historically preserved but with all the amenities of a first class hotel. The grounds are extensive and...

I spent two nights at the McCloud Hotel, not far off the 5 near Mt Shasta. The hotel was renovated in the early 90s and the interior is beautifully done. The rooms were spacious and the new owners have made sure that the beds are comfortable. Most surprising was the quality of the food in the restaurant. It was exceptional...

Very clean, spacious room and bathroom. Good made to order hot breakfast in addition to fresh fruits, Granola and yogurt. Spacious common living rooms, library, verandas. New owners Gary and Cindy were gracious.

We adore this Hotel. It is a member of the Unique Inns group, which we find has very reliable well-priced and lovely historic or well designed buildings and rooms. With the exception of not serving dinners Monday & Tuesday it is perfect in every way. We will simply NOT TRAVEL on those days! Dinners have always been delicious, creative and...

We loved the place. Cute and quaint and full of history. Board games sprinkled around the different sitting rooms. Very friendly staff. Rooms are good sizes, clean, but be careful noise travels in this old building. Dinner was delicious. Pot roast was one of the best meals in a while. Creamy tomato soup was also really tasty. Breakfast was OK...

Thank you for your positive remarks about our hotel and for taking the time to share your experience. We have expanded our popular complimentary breakfast menu items to include both a crustless spinach, mushroom and gruyere quiche and a baked vegetable Fritata that we serve in a ramekin. We look forward to your next visit.

The new owners have a good staff on board with keeping clean and neat an old hotel with old furnishings and a chef who knows how to use herbs and spices (my chicken pot pie was the best I've had). WiFi was limited, but I consider that a plus, a B&B is not a place to hang out with a...

We have stayed here several times while visiting family that are local. This is a spacious comfortable and very clean B & B. I had never really stayed at a B & B before this and it has opened my eyes to the enjoyment a traveler has when doing so. The hosts Robert and Nancy are absolutely fantastic. They go...

While I rate this a 3 and not a 4, we had a very pleasant stay and I have a lot of positive memories. This is a very old, historic inn that was completely gutted and remodeled in the mid 1990s. The fact that we were able to stay in this historic building was really nice. The lobby was beautiful...

This was my second stay at the McCloud Hotel. It's a great place. When I read that it was a B&B, I thought: bathroom down the hall and a lot of contrived quaintness. It was none of that. The room was large and nice, with its own bathroom. Breakfast was very good as was the dinner that night at the...
