This handsome well-run inn is off-the-beaten path and not really walkable to anything to do but is just perfect for lounging around, reading, sunset-gazing, board games, sipping wine, tea, nibbling snacks put out all day, and gazing at birds and the bay from comfy beautiful furniture; vast DVD and board game library, wonderful happy hour with fine CA wines and... Caring staff greeted us warmly. We were in the Meadowview Room. Two bedrooms, one bath. Very spacious. The amenities, games, books, backyard seating, etc. were well kept. We had dinner elsewhere, but the breakfast was absolutely outstanding. Highly recommended. We stayed at another resort (5-star) in Napa and, truth be told, they could stand a lesson in how to do... Room (smugglers cove) was a nice size, very comfortable (great bed) and had a great view over the Pacific. There's a big DVD collection to choose from if you want to watch a film instead of the cable TV. Shared lounge area is amazing (love the massive logburner) with a deck opening to the same great views over the Pacific... More

We were in the Raven room-nice view of a cove on the Pacific, a nicely furnished quiet room on the 2nd floor. The breakfast everyday was great with a good choice- what everyone says about the bacon is true-its the best. Wine tasting and a buffet dinner is served from 530-630 including dessert-no need to venture out. They have 500... More

A very delightful Inn with a pleasant staff. We had a great view of the Pacific from our spacious room. The light dinner was excellent but my wife and I cannot get over how delicious the breakfast was. The Inn is located in a beautiful area, excellent for long walks. Highly recommended. The wines in Anderson Valley are great.

We stayed one night on our way through to San Francisco . Awesome dinner buffet in the evening and breakfast the next morning, and an excellent view of the ocean from our room. Very friendly and helpful staff. We will be back.

We stayed for two nights and had an absolutely wonderful time. We travel extensively and this is one of the top two or there places in the world we have stayed. The Madrone room has a lovely little private porch, a big comfy king bed, two cozy reading chairs in front of the fireplace and is a true haven. The... More

The inn is absolutely lovely and the staff really make you feel at home. Our room was spacious and comfortable and we enjoyed sitting on the deck and watching the ocean and listening to the waves through the night. Dinner and breakfast were scrumptious and we look forward to going again.

We stayed for 2 nights in Heron at the end of our 10 day visit touring (mostly southern) California. It was an excellent choice of location and the hotel is well deserving of the top Conde Nast award just received. It is small enough to have a personal feel and we appreciated the thoughtful touches - ultra soft blankets for... More
