Beautiful drive up the coast to the Stanford Inn. Check in was a breeze and they had cookies waiting for us. Had a wonderful plant based meal at the the Ravens that evening and settled in for a fire in the room with bottle of wine we picked up. Over the next few days we toured the ground and the...

This was our first visit to the Stanford Inn. Our room was very large with a separate bedroom and a spacious living room with roll out bed. The room was appointed with Stickley like furniture with matched the knotty pine walls. There was a fireplace with wood and kindling for starting the fire. Outside the room there was a balcony...

You stayed in one of our Forest one bedroom suites, with a fireplace and a private balcony overlooking the lovely garden. It's too bad you missed out on the pool, hopefully next time you can take advantage everything!

A place to stage a get away from the realities of everyday life and an opportunity to reflect and learn. We scheduled a class with Sid to learn more about the benefits of a vegan lifestyle. Fascinating! This is my 4th stay at the Stanford Inn beginning in 1985 (we live on the east coast) and hopefully not my last....

This place is amazing. Perfect place to go and spend some lovely alone time with your special someone. Its small enough that the staff gets to know you and treats you with a personal touch. Food is outstanding though the Creme Brulee holds a special palace in our hearts. Truly amazing. Only down side is the road in was a...

Thank you for braving beautiful 128 to get to us, we are so glad you enjoyed your stay! The remote location of Mendocino lends to its charm, but next time try stopping along the way to stretch your legs or do some wine tasting in the Anderson Valley.

I was here last week for a much-needed vacation and the Stanford Inn was everything I had hoped it would be: the rooms were comfortable and relaxing with super plush beds, balconies and in-room fireplaces that I got somewhat obsessed with (trying to build the perfect fire - they provide all of the wood and kindling). The food here is...

Jill, thank you for reviewing us, and for expressing what we often feel. Even though the majority of our guest are not vegan or vegetarian, we hope that all our guests are open to seeing how food can be environmentally conscious and cruelty free at the same time as delicious and well prepared.

We really enjoyed our weekend at the Stanford Inn. The grounds and gardens are beautiful - lush and colorful and clearly tended with care. The staff were lovely and kind. The accommodations were clean and comfortable. We loved having our own wood-burning fireplace in the room. We enjoyed the free bike rentals and rode 10 miles along the river into...

My daughter and I just spent four amazing days here: we are making plans to return with her brother. We found it because we enjoy their cookbook and we wanted to stay in a beautiful, natural, sustainable place in Northern California and be able to enjoy great vegan food at every meal. It was even better than we had hoped!...

My husband and I stayed here for two nights in April 2017 and had an absolutely incredible experience from start to finish. We began our stay by going to a class taught by Stanford Inn's on-site nutritionist and health coach, Sid Garza-Hillman. We are fans of his weekly podcast, and we were absolutely thrilled to be able to meet him...

Thank you for this detailed review! We are so glad you could make it over all the way from Nebraska, and were able to meet Sid in person. The first floor rooms are just as lovely as the top level rooms, the view is just different as you said. Looking forward to next time!

We were not told this was a vegan resort. The included vegan breakfast made my husband sick. My breakfast was a dried up waffle imitation. The rooms are knotty pine from the 50's. We did like the woodburning fireplace in the room but there was no heat source in the large bathroom making it uncomfortable to use. Towels were threadbare....

It’s super clear that we’re not the place for you! However…Fact: our towels are brand new, soft, and made from bamboo. Fact: we chose knotty pine because it was the most sustainable choice at the time we built. Guests overwhelmingly love the ‘lodge’ feel of our resort. Fact: We are a resort with a full wellness center, indoor pool/sauna, organic...

My wife and I stayed here with our dog just over 20 years ago. I remembered it as a lovely place, reasonably priced with a beautiful room, spectacular views and, of course, dog-friendly. When my daughter and I decided to take our dog and travel up to Mendocino for a couple days, I immediately thought of the Stanford Inn. We...

We are so sorry to hear about your visit…Please note our room rates are in line with the Mendocino Coast, especially considering all that is included with our stays: full made-to-order organic breakfast, bike rental, indoor pool/jacuzzi/sauna, complimentary afternoon dessert/coffee/tea. In addition, our $45 pet fee, unlike most other pet-friendly inns/hotels, is per stay, not per night, and as you...
