I booked a room with a queen and twin size bed, private bath. While parking was centrally located, I did not mind the short walk to our building. The entire resort is tucked away on a mountainside surrounded by woods. Many different options are sure to fit anyone's budget. Our room was colorfully decorated in a very unique style that...

It was the Ken Burns documentary about "America Greatest Idea" about our National Parks that set me in search mode for a place to stay near Yosemite. The Yosemite Bug is set beautifully in the mountains just outside of Mariposa and NP. The private room was wonderful with plenty of hot water, comfy bed and a private deck which we...

Stayed here 2 nights in a private room/ shared bath with my 15 year old daughter. We are from the NYC and Boston suburbs. Overall it was a great experience. Front desk staff were all very friendly and helpful. I just read some of the recent reviews and laugh to myself about how upset people get about nitpicking things -...

We traveled as a couple and one single. We had the private room/private bath and private room/shared bath respectively, and they were both very nice and clean, comfortable bed, and furnished in a way that felt homey and non-hotel-y. The food was delicious, with a varied menu and good service. We enjoyed eating in the dining lodge, with nice views...

It's all fun and games until they throw away your laundry bag. At least $300 of kids and adult clothes trashed, and zero compensation. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone, as traveling with your luggage in the car is not practical and you can not leave anything safely in your room here. Unacceptable. (Bad karma for them)

We were set to enjoy our visit, meet guests from all over the world (which we did), and plan to return again to make memories here as a family. All went well until housekeeping (which we didn't know existed at a hostel) came and mistook our bag of wet clothes for trash and threw them out. Management's response was not...

Me and my friends stayed in the dorm room which was very spacious and had 2 showers and toilets which were enough for everyone. The best part about staying at the rustic bug was the overall friendly welcoming vibe. There was a shared communal kitchen that we cooked dinner in one night that was lots of fun playing cards and...

This log cabin type spot was great, tucked away amongst trees and offered great relaxed social areas. the bathroom was very average but for the price it was more than enough. Interesting deco. Clean and tidy. Super comfy beds.

The location is good, about 50 minutes from the Yosemite National Park. The rooms are good, but in the first night the shower and sink were without running water. The breakfast is very good and also the dinner (all paid). Staff are nice.

My girlfriend, her two teenage children and myself rented the 3 bedroom "starlight house" and very much enjoyed the experience. The whole complex includes a café (excellent food- see separate review) lots of cabins, a hostel, kitchen, and even a spa! The "starlight house" has two stories, three bedrooms, sleeps 8 and has a crazy mix of furnishing and wall...

Tucked away on its own bend along the stream, perched under a grove of black oaks, the Yosemite Bug Rustic Mountain Resort has a magical feel. Located only 26 miles away from Yosemite Valley along California's scenic, open all year Highway 140. The Bug offers a relaxed and social atmosphere where families, backpackers and international travelers all find welcome and a variety of affordable accomodations and amenities an old time mountain resort would have. At the Bug we feature a variety of lodgings to suit any budget. From well appointed private rooms in cabins, vacation rentals, to tent cabins and Hostelling International licensed hostel dorms. Our guests find our facilities to be anything but a corporate hotel or motel setting. In fact, we are on a sloped hillside so be prepared to walk far up and down to your accommodations and parking. Our guests are welcome at the June Bug Cafe offering fresh comfort and international foods. The Cafe features an daily crafted dinner menu, highlighting our garden, local or organic ingredients. There are always vegan, vegetarian options and holiday feast menus. Breakfast & lunch are solid choices for your active day. Or, enjoy the fully equipped guest kitchen. Both have free wi-fi and are well stocked with board games, darts, ping pong, books and lively conversation with diverse guests and locals. The Yosemite Health Spa is located below the cafe with its own garden deck overlooking the valley below. There, our guests will find a yoga studio, massage therapy, essential oil baths, hot rocks sauna and a huge H2O2 UV spring fed stainless steel hot tub. With asian decor, world music and complimentary tea, the spa offers a calm yet social environment.
