The place is nasty. It has paper thin walls and my visit was just nasty. The food there was obviously frozen. I'm usually a picky eater but this just made me eat less and close to nothing. I just think that the owners were mean and rude. My grandma was with me and my papa and my two aunts all...

I am truly sorry that you did not enjoy your stay at the lodge. I cannot remember specifics of your groups stay, but my records indicate that your group stayed one night and were the only guests that night. It is our desire and goal to provide exceptional service to all guests staying with us. It is never our intention...

My boyfriend and I had a booking scheduled for Friday December 23rd, departing on the 24th. We were driving on our way north towards the lodge when Sharon gave us a call to let us know that the roads were pretty bad and she was nervous about us putting on our snow chains in the dark. She also said that...

My husband and I stayed for three nights so that we'd have plenty of time to explore Lassen. It's about 25 minutes from the park, which is about as close as you can get without camping in the park itself. Sharon and Jim are warm and friendly and have an encyclopedic knowledge of the area. The lodge is an old...

What a great place to stay. We had the Bluebird room. very comfortable bed. overhead fan to keep us comfortable. handy little sink for handwashing/toothbrushing in our room. bathrooms were shared which was not a big deal for us (bathrobes in each room) both were nicely equipped with good shower/tub. hot tub out back was great after hiking most of...

I stayed here with my wife and kids for 3 nights while on a hiking trip to Lassen. The St. Bernard is very convenient for Lassen, particularly on the southwest side; about a 20-30 minute drive, depending on where you are going within that side of the park. The lodge itself is very good. Rooms are reasonably sized and clean,...

Stayed two nights with my fiance. We ended up getting there later than expected, but after informing the owners, they were very understanding and even gave us suggestions on where we could eat in the surrounding towns. The linens were the most comfortable sheets I've ever felt! Though they are right off the main road, ear plugs were provided in...

Family owned bed and breakfast. Great value! Owners are extremely accommodating with anything you need at the lodge or with helping you plan your day activities. Super clean for an older property. Rooms are small, but quaint and nothing is broken or 'weird'. Shared bathrooms but don't let that turn you off!! You won't mind it at all. There are...

Very cozy lodge right on the road between Chester and Lassen National Park. Cozy and clean rooms with excellent bedding and towels. This doesn't scream fancy bed and breakfast but it's quite pleasant, has nice trappings, and has a great breakfast included.

We were looking for a spot to stay close to Lassen NP. We located The St. Bernard Lodge on Google Maps and hoped for the best. I doubt we could have done better. The lodge is a historic building that's perfectly maintained--none of those DIY fixes out of Home Depot. The rooms are upstairs above a restaurant and bar. They...

Drove around in Chester and near Mill Creek trying to find somewhere to stay and somehow ended up at St Bernard Lodge. What luck. I think there's 7 bedrooms in the lodge, all are beautiful, none ensuite so be prepared for sharing 2 nice home from home bathrooms with other guests. Sharon and Jim are beyond fabulous as hosts. Sharon...
