One of the least friendly or helpful staffs I've ever experienced at any hotel, much less one this expensive. We experienced a number of issues and were met with nonchalance and no attempt to put things right. Absolutely never staying here again.
This had been my primary stay in Monterey, but after this experience of having dirty and unsanitary water in the bathroom pipes, we were forced to check out early. We were not provided a comp, which is unfortunate as I would have like to give it another shot to make it right.
My husband and I stayed at your hotel this weekend, on Saturday. Upon entering our room, it had not been cleaned yet and was in terrible condition. However, when my husband made you aware of the situation, your staff, Marilyn was not only very attentive but also helped find a solution and made another room available. It was such a pleasant surprise to see she also found us a better room available. Marily is a tremendous asset to your team. You are lucky to have her. We are a commercial contracting firm in Northern California, and we will definitely stay at the Intercontinental again, and make sure we share our experience with all of our commercial tenants as well.
Nice hotel. Bedding is luxurious. We ate at the restaurant every morning and it was absolutely delicious. Room was clean and quiet. The location is ideal if you want to explore Cannery Row. You can walk everywhere.
My family and I just stayed at the Intercontinental Monterey this past weekend and as always, this hotel delivers far beyond expectation. It is absolutely my favorite place to stay…and I never want to leave once I’m there. The hotel staff is exceptionally friendly and attentive. The location of the hotel is unbeatable; situated in the heart of Cannery Row, you’re only a few steps from the Aquarium, the beach, walking trails, and plenty of fantastic restaurant choices. We started each day of our stay with breakfast at the hotel’s attached restaurant, The C Restaurant and Bar - and wow! The food, the service, and the views are all top-notch. We enjoyed watching the otters in the ocean with unobstructed views of the bay from our table as we drank coffee and ate our way through many of the dishes on the menu (all of them were phenomenal). We came and went throughout the day. We enjoyed astounding views from our hotel room. We took advantage of the restaurant bar and room service on several occasions. And we slept very well, thanks to the comfortable beds and the sound of the ocean outside. Overall, we had an absolutely amazing experience from start to finish. We enjoyed many of the amenities (the gym, the pool and hot tub, room service, valet, etc.) and can’t wait to come back to utilize their on-site spa during our next stay. We enjoyed our time so much, we literally couldn’t leave and extended our stay for an additional night. This hotel will always be my go-to recommendation for anyone wanting to enjoy the coast of Monterey. Thank you to the staff at Intercontinental for making our weekend in Monterey so unforgettably beautiful. …
This by far was the best experience we had at Monterey. Close to the aquarium and dining places, superb/excellent customer service from the staff. The front desk personnel were super friendly and greeted us and made sure that our needs were met. Rooms that were provided for us were super clean, came with a wonderful coffee maker to sip my morning coffee while watching the bay! Parking was convenient since they had their own parking space. Thank you so much for the wonderful, short but sweet stay that we had
Bad Customer Service. Spent 5 hours on the phone with IHG customer service in the Philippines. Asked numerous times to be transferred to US call center but denied. Finally talked to Mandy #3550 at the call center who claimed to be part owner of IHG and just happened to be in the Philippines that day I guess. Finally found the phone # to IHG US Headquarters in Atlanta, left message and still waiting 3 days later for a callback. Have been a loyal customer with IHG and currently Ambassador status but will be changing rewards credit card to Marriott for future travel. Cannot recommend IHG properties anymore.
Took a one night stay in Monterey during our Pacific Highway tour. The Intercontinental Hotel was a perfect comfortable stay. The staff were very welcoming with great service. My IHG status was recognised and we received a lovely room upgrade. Some very loud guests slamming doors through the night, but this is not the hotels fault. Breakfast was good, but service was poor as we had to ask twice for our beverage order to be served - not what we expected. Big shout out to thank Christina (Reception Supervisor) for handling our booking with all the storm issues restricting road access up the coast. We were looking forward to a nice afternoon in the pool and sauna, but realised the pool was just a cold outdoor channel trench and there were no saunas. Monterey was not our favourite location on the tour, as it was far too commercialised for our liking and we would have picked somewhere else had we have realised this - this is certainly not the hotels fault.…
Pleasant stay, well located but feels a bit overpriced. Comfortable bed and nice to have a bathtub in the room. The downstairs bar does a good happy hour. Valet parking all very easy and the front desk team were helpful. The hotel could be nicer if it had a less corporate feel - but the seafront location more than makes up for the standard hotel feel.
Excellent location walking distance to the aquarium, restaurants, and walking paths. Friendly service and clean rooms. Would stay again. I believe they changed their policy, and it is now pet-friendly. Had a patio and fireplace room.
