Room was very well equipped - comfy bed, fireplace, microwave, refrigerator. Loved the terrace with chairs - enjoyed my coffee there. Hot tub was nice addition. Too cool to swim in pool but looked nice. Walking distance to restaurants, beech, and bars.
Clean and comfortable budget motel near tourist area in Monterey. Staff was courteous and efficient. We enjoyed the fireplace in our room. Outside area looked nice, but it was too windy to use. Parking was convenient and right outside our room.
The pictures are completely fake! This is a disgusting room with roaches, no ac, old and tacky. The room is less than 100 sq ft it’s orange paint, smells, dog poop by to door, homeless people sitting out front, inside has filthy walls!!! So much more!! Save your money do not go here!
I was unable to make this trip, due to bad weather and the closure of Hiway One. I will be charged anyway as I made my reservation through this website. I was unaware that it would be booked using an app that does not allow cancellation. I found out after booking that I would be charged whether I made the trip or not. I also realized that I would have been charged quite a bit less by booking through the Lodge itself, which I will be doing in the future. I was not aware that Trip Advisor would be using a booking website. I’m disappointed in the quality of this website now because I have always enjoyed this service in the past.
We stayed here for five nights and absolutely loved the location. We were a few minutes from the beach and the fisherman’s wharf. There was plenty to walk and drive too in the local area. The hotel is next to a garage/mart which was convenient for basic food, wine and beer. The room was comfortable and clean. The staff were friendly and accommodating. We liked the separate bunk bed room for our teens. (This was something quite rare to find in the USA.) The shared area, pool and hot tub were clean and a wonderful place to chill in the day or evening. Be warned that the kitchenette was really a microwave and coffee machine next to the bathroom sink! ( Not suitable for self catering as no utensils or crockery to use.) However we would recommend for its location, cleanliness and beds.…
It’s a cute place near the beach and a walk to fisherman’s wharf and even cannery row. We walked to both from here. The staff were nice and the rooms clean. The only downside was that there was no AC and we couldn’t keep the windows or doors open because there was no way to lock them at night. Overall it was a good place to stay and one of the more affordable options.
Stayed here in July 2022 as part of a tour of California and thank god it was only for 1 night. The room was very expensive considering how small and basic the room was. The rooms are in dire need of renovation. Cannery row is a significant distance away. The worst part of the stay however was the noise. All through the night there was a constant sound of running water and then a loud bang every few minutes. This noise continued for the whole night so if you value your sleep do not stay here. When the noise issue was raised with reception staff they could not care less and did not acknowledge this was a fault within the motel and needs fixed. The room was certainly not worth the £300 paid for it. Avoid at all costs
We stayed here Sunday thru Wednesday June 19th thru the 22nd. The location was great as it was walking distance to lots of restaurants, a nice clean beach and Fisherman's wharf. Across the street is a park with a lake with swan paddle boats that would be fun for kids. The room was clean but we were surprised that there was no air conditioning in our room #214. There was a fan so it was OK but could be very warm in the summer. The bathroom sink area was a bit crowded as they put the small fridge (kept everything nice and cold), the hair dryer, the lighted mirror and the microwave in the same small space with only 2 plugs but it was OK. The in-room safe did not work and they didn't seem inclined to fix it but we let that go. The shower was nice and strong, the bed was very comfortable and we had a bit of a view of the ocean. Good TV channel selection on the large flat screen. Wi-fi was too slow so we stayed on 5G. The common patio and pool area was nice. The area toward downtown was safe for walking. There is a McDonalds just on the other side of the lake park. We walked to Melville Tavern for dinner and had a fantastic breakfast at LouLou's Griddle in the Middle on the pier. Super cute place, fantastic service and delicious food. The hubcap pancake is so huge, it hangs off the plate. They were only open for breakfast Friday thru Monday. We went on Monday but would have gone back if they were open. Except in the height of summer, we will definitely stay here again. It was almost half the cost of most other locations and met our needs. We don't hang out in our room a lot so it worked fine for us.…
We stayed toward the back of the hotel, could see the petrol/gas station but as in previous reviews we weren't disturb by it. Located away from the main town but close to a beach and play park also boating lake. No restaurants or shops nearby, didn't bother us as prepared to walk. Room was typical American style hotel/motel, comfortable double bed, coffee machine, Shower in the bath. microwave and quiet fridge. Usual shower/bath amenities supplied. Could be a little tight on parking in high season The main attractions are a good walk away on coastal path from hotel : Cannery Row : 40-45mins Fishermen's Wharf : 30mins Aquarium : 50-55mins
Clean Room located next to a gas station. No restaurants nearby. Not walking distance to Cannery Row or any restaurants. Called the front desk to ask where we could eat that was close by and was told the gas station has snacks or we could drive to Cannery Row. Very Noisy- we could hear the people in the next room discussing options for their children's snacks. Kids running on the balcony upstairs. Will never return.
