Some of the most comfortable hostel beds I've slept on! Staff are extremely friendly, there are large open common areas which gives a very relaxing vibe. Short walk from Cannery Row and the Aquarium makes it very convenient, and great value!

I stayed here with my son and son-in-law to attend the WSBK races at Laguna Seca. We were in the Big Sur co-ed dorm which sleeps 16 in bunk beds. The other people staying at the hostel were a mix of motorcycle race fans, families, a youth group, and travellers from overseas. The room and beds were clean and everyone...

It's been a long time since I've stayed in a hostel, but I was pleasantly surprised by Monterey's. The rooms and bathroom are clean, and the location is convenient to the MB Aquarium. Stayed for 5 nights for a conference, and was grateful for someplace reasonably priced to stay. During checkin, the hostel was understaffed so I wasn't told that...

Location is perfect. It's clean and a nice place. I stayed in a 12 person dorm. It was safe to leave stuffe. They even pay attention to how much water they waste, or at least makes our think about it! I liked it very much. Walking distance to the beach, the city center and it's very safe both location and...

Two beds were allotted to us during checkin and when we returned from dinner, one bed was occupied by someone else. The lady said the manager allotted her the same bed!!! Watch out. However the manager was very helpful in knowing good places of visit and other info. The location of the hostel is good too.

I was impressed by the qualities of this hostel. Good rooms, great staff, clean bathrooms, good breakfast and very good environment. Monterey is a beautiful city by the sea with a peculiar charm. I had just one day to get to know it but found it really nice.

This hostel was excellent! Lovely homely feel to it. Staff are very helpful, especially David! Close to everything and Monterey is beautiful. Huge living room, every where is clean, yes you may have to use tokens for the shower but its perfectly fine. I would definitely stay here again!

Only stayed here one night but based on our visit, here are some quick tips: - staff are pretty nonchalant /apathetic. - kitchen is small with no stove. - rooms are clean, spacious and comfy. - living room HUGE! Well furnished and spacious. A really lovely area to sit and relax, chat or eat dinner. - No alcohol allowed on...

It's hard to find a cheap stay in Monterey.. This is an alternative if you just want a place to sleep and park your car in a reasonably central location. The shared rooms were rugged and smelled a bit like the old basement it was but the beds were comfortable and I got a good nights sleep.

A nice little hostel a friend and I stayed at for one night on our west coast road trip. Reasonable price, environmentally friendly with a challenge to use a certain amount of water tokens when taking a shower (however they will give you extra). A great location close to local attractions such as the Monterey Aquarium and a short drive...
