If you're looking for someplace with character, this is it. The inn and its furnishings were obviously a labor of love. The details are what make it so charming. Nothing cookie cutter about it. Although the bar is small, there is a snug with a fireplace for use by overnight guests. It is spacious and comfy, and it opens onto...

The Pelican Inn is very pretty, there's no doubt. It is like an old English pub and I know that because I'm British. But trying to get a table, or speak to someone about reservations, is like seeking the Holy Grail. God only knows what the process is. The woman in the cubbyhole at the front is utterly mannerless; the...

We booked online for the largest (and most expensive -$335) Pelican Inn room for the night weeks before our intended stay. I thought the website read the room could fit 3 if needed. Upon arrival, I informed the front desk person that our daughter was with us (18 years old). The receptionist seemed very put out and I explained that...

This Inn was bult in 1600s in England and torn down and rebuily near the entrance to Muir Woods. Great loging, great food and a wonderful, romantic getaway. There is a minute walk to Muir Beach and a great sunset view.

Stayed in room 5. very small but pleasant. Note access is only from one side of the bed, so if you both need your own exit from the bed, do not book this room. A bit of squeaking from the room above, nothing serious. So why am I rating this a 5. It was a wonderful unique experience, felt like...

From the woman who took our reservation over the phone to the last woman who helped us check out and everyone in between, the Pelican Inn was upbeat, helpful and friendly. They make it a point to reward exceptional staff and will give you a short survey about your stay. We like this. The Inn itself is charming and historic...

This Enligsh-style B&B is located admist the Golden Gate National Recreational Area and is accessed by narrow winding roads. The surroundings make one feel far away, though San Francisco is a 30 minute drive. The rooms are nice, although small. The pub is warm and the bartender was friendly and knowledgeable. There were some great local musicians playing the evening...

We stayed here on the last day of our honeymoon after a friend recommended it and found it to be a great place away from city. Only 28 minutes drive on the sat nav from Union square the location and surrounding area of Muir woods is lovely. The inn itself is a very authentic English with a great menu and...

Based on reviews from other travellers, decided to surprise my love with a Birthday lunch at the Pelican Inn. That Monday morning, we had headed to Muir Woods (not to be missed), and I had realized that as we left to return to San Francisco we would pass by this lovely Inn. Great atmosphere, attentive service, excellent & plentiful food....

Stayed here the night of Aug 7 as part of a short getaway to celebrate a milestone birthday. We never encountered the innkeeper so cannot comment on that aspect, but each member of the staff was very friendly, cordial and professional. We had a delicious dinner in the Pelican's restaurant where my sticky toffee pudding was served with lit candle...
