After staying numerous times in Nevada City, my boyfriend and I, hands down love the US Hotel the best. We stayed in the Empire Room #1 which had the most romantic view of Broad Street. Our room was very comfortable and beautifully appointed. I especially enjoyed the clawfoot tub that has a tall window that opens up to the outside... More

Having just returned yesterday from a lovely stay at the US Hotel Bed and Breakfast, I wanted to share my experience. First, my reason for choosing a bed and breakfast over a hotel or motel is to have a unique experience. My stay at the US Hotel was definetly unique. The innkeeper, Katie (I didn't really meet Lesli), is a... More

Read all the small print in the lengthy list of policies, rules and regulations before you book at the U.S. Hotel. As a previous review noted, this establishment charges an extra 4%, on top of the 10% room tax, if you pay by credit card. And now the U.S. Hotel has added a 4% "water and power charge!" This is... My daughter and I just returned from a delightful stay at the US Hotel Bed and Breakfast, and couldn't have had a more enjoyable experience! 5 Stars!! Having had a miserable experience a few years ago at the currently #1 ranked B&B, Red Castle (serious rating accuracy issues there), I researched Trip Advisor comments as a guide for selecting a... We had friends come visit us from Oregon in 2002 and took a drive to Nevada City. Checked out quite a few BB but all decided to stay at the USHotel, which was the best choice. Katie & Lesli were so delightful and went out of their way to make our stay very enjoyable. The rooms were so nice and... More

On my first trip to Nevada City in 1999, I knew that the U.S. Hotel B&B was going to be a special experience. I had the extreme pleasure of meeting Brooke and Roy Evans (the owners at the time) and was overwhelmed by their hospitality and warmth. The hotel was incredibly beautiful, the setting unique and the town of Nevada... More

A few years back I discovered Nevada City and have returned numerous times every year. And since also discovering the U.S. Hotel and its most hospitable proprietresses, I will not stay anywhere else. The hotel is located at the center of the 3-block by 3-block town and the balcony views afford a great vantage point of the street happenings of... More

Caveat Emptor. The best room (#1, the Empire Room) at the U.S. Hotel is not the $189.00/night one expects. For our two-night Thursday and Friday stay, we were charged $432.43. Weeknights cost the same as weekends, although the 6:00 a.m. Friday morning garbage pickup makes sleep impossible while that diesel monster truck roars up and down Broad Street at the... More
