Disgusting!!! Only need one word to describe this hotel. I have a feeling that the hourly rate is higher than the daily rate. CONS 1. Heavily stained mattress. Thank god I brought my own sheet, pillow and a sleeping bag. 2. Carpet, disgusting- I brought my shower slides, Thank god!!! 3. More caulking in the shower than fiberglass 4. Corners in bathroom covered with some sort of organisms 5. Iffy proposition if the toilet flushes 6. Damn smokers!!! PRO 1. Good water pressure in the shower. If my wife had been traveling with me, should would have divorced me!!!

I really should have read the reviews! It was as bad as that. For $20 a night more, I am quite sure I could have had a nice stay somewhere else. This is a lesson. The smell of the room was so unbearably chemically stinky. I had to cover my nose. The lights did not work in the bathroom, there were no outlets hardly, the tv did not work, the internet was spotty, it was, well, disgusting. I would never ever ever stay there again. It does not take much to make a room nice and these people have absolutely no clue how to do anything to make this hotel nice. The only positive thing I have to say is that the woman who checked me in was nice (and should NOT be working there). And I liked the cafe near by. Nothing else was nice about this place. We should protest going here and make them uplevel it by 10% at least. That would be a huge improvement. Eeeiiiuuuwww!

Fantastic customer service is always our goal, and the fact that we were able to provide you with the superior hospitality we aim for warms our hearts. That being said, it is unfortunate you found your room to be below the standards of cleanliness and comfort we strive to maintain. We apologize for the odor you experienced and will be forwarding your feedback to our team so we can better ensure a quality experience for all of our guests.

1. At checkin, Randy the front office person asked - smoking or non smoking. I said non smoking. He said "Are you sure?" WHY WOULD HE ASK THAT. Later I saw him smoking on the back side of the office. 2. He also asked whether I wanted 2 queens or 1 king (which I had reserved). When I said I would like 2 queens, he said - you have to cancel your reservation, and make a new one on wherever you made your reservation! I passed. The motel was definitely not full. 3. The light switch near the door did not work. 4. There was no closet, and only 2 hangars, while there were 4 hangar slots. I called and Randy said - I cannot do this. I will ask the service person to do this tomorrow. OKAAAY! Next day there were no additional hangars. 5. I was not given the wifi password. I called, and Randy said it over the phone. But when I said can I make sure it is working, he said "I have another customer, I have to go!" It would have taken another 5 seconds! 6. His demeanor was surly. He should find some other job that is NOT customer facing, and certainly not in the hospitality industry. 7. Room was small, and while bed was OK, the amenities barely existed. Little packet of shampoo, one small soap bar! I had booked 4 nights, but left after staying 1 night. NEVER AGAIN WILL I PATRONIZE THIS BRAND! The Indian lady at checkout was gracious. This should NOT be listed on Expedia.

I would give this hotel ZERO stars if I could. The guy who checked us in was very unfriendly. We probably interrupted his marijuana break. The room looked dirty and extremely outdated. Had a strong cleaning chemical smell. The curtains looked like rags. The bathroom had mold on its walls. We were scared to sleep in the beds thinking there might be bugs. The best part of our stay was checking out and getting the hell out of there........

I will take into consideration this is a budget motel however, even budget brands have standards. I ended up here as nothing else was available. This was my first experience with America’s Best Value or any Red Lion brand and it left quite an impression. I know this is a budget brand, but as a hospitality professional, I would not put my name on this property. The desk clerk had her daughter there (not a problem with me). During check- in she said “mom are you going to tell him when breakfast is?” She promptly said “NO”. And never did. I was given keys and had to ask for directions to the room which she wasn’t sure of. Before I forget, the sign by the highway is so small you don’t see it until you are right up on it. The room was clean. The room attendant did a great job with what he/she had to work with. The bed was neatly made, wrinkle free. There was a horrible patch job on the ceiling by the door. The curtains were coming off the rod, the 4ft clothing rod had one single hanger. Also for furniture, the room has a metal folding chair. Some basic amenities were missing even for a budget brand. The room was missing a clock, note pad/ pen, or even motel info. There nothing, not even a welcome letter explaining amenities. All hotels have SOMETHING to state check- in/out times, pool times, breakfast-since the check-in lady refused, WiFi info, channels, local attractions, etc. I noticed an overall lack of branding. Minus the tiny highway sign, there was nothing in the room or property that says I am at America’s Best Value Inn; something simple like the notepad/ pen would make a difference. This property is not scary, but there should not be any national brand associated with this motel.

America’s Best Value Inn at California’s Thousand Oaks certainly lives up to its name. At only $70 including tax, you get a decent night’s sleep with bathroom, parking, WiFi and breakfast all included - who could ask for anything more!

The room was without running water for 1 hour minimum, no explanation or notice for this. I stayed in a room with 2 double beds, the room was so small one bed was pushed up against the wall and the other against the air conditioner on the other side with just enough room for a night stand in the middle. It had a dining table with no chairs and not enough room for any if they did have them. Only one empty outlet in the room located bathing the night stand. Beds were very uncomfortable and the air conditioner was dificult to operate due to a worn out thermostat knob.

They would not clean the room . We had to hunt down maids to give us towels . I will never stay here again . Next tine I will just pay more. I needed to stay on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day .. because I was visiting my dad in ICU. Pay more money to someone else.. if you can . I am at a loss for words . I can't even imagine if I actually spent more time there
