Small hotel one block from the beach. Nice comfortable room. Friendly and helpful staff. They supply all the equipment, board, towels etc. to enjoy the beach. The Crab Cooker and 21 Oceanfront restaurant are within a three block walk as other restaurants.

I've loved the Crab Cooker for over four decades - glad you enjoyed it too!

This is a great small hotel -- half a block from the bay beach and close to the ocean. Both Warren, the evening manager, and Jenny, the day manager are friendly, multi-talented people. The breakfast room is charming with stained glass windows and quality breakfast products. Love the croissants, but I had to cut one in half, they are too...

Thank you for coming to stay and for positively commenting on some of our amenities. Glad you enjoyed the shampoo - well, when we're so close to Hollywood, it makes sense!

This a cute spot located near the beach. I prefer luxury hotels, but wanted to give this a try. The location is really great, however I was missing the basic comforts of a 5 star hotel. If you are after a casual, low-key beach vacation, then this is the spot for you.

This isn't your run of the mill chain hotel, it's far more special. From the warm greeting by Warren (himself a gem) on the front desk, to the smell of freshly baked cookies and fresh fruit in the lobby, this hotel is the perfect choice for anyone seeking easy beach and dining access in Newport Beach. From the comfortable sundeck...

As the owner, believe me, I know how very blessed I am to be supported by such terrific staff! I will be particularly sharing your kind words with Warren and thanking my whole staff for being the kind of team that elicits and warrants reviews such as yours!

#1 rating on TripAdvisor and the Certificate of Excellence are earned and well deserved. This is the best hotel we have ever stayed. Room 302, comfortable, clean, beautifully decorated, real orchid in the bathroom, good alarm clock/radio/cd player, dvd player with full library in the office to check out, lots of electric outlets, two sliding windows opening to a great...

Wow! Thank you so much for your glowing and extensive review. It really is wonderful of you to take the time to alert others to all of our amenities, our location and our level of service. Thank you again, I and my hardworking, personable staff are so very grateful.

No, this hotel isn't one of those large chain hotels surrounding the shopping malls one usually finds in Newport Beach. It's a small, privately-run place that has that elusive quality that makes it feel almost as comfortable as home. The location was 2 blocks from the ocean and half a block from a sheltered waterway. A kids' playground was right...

Your use of the word 'bracing' for the interruption in hot water flow in the shower is most charitable - I do apologize for the rude awakening that must have induced! I'll be checking into that and alerting my general manager. Thank you for mentioning so many of our amenities and those of our immediate neighbors; having Marina Park open...

The reviews don't lie. I stayed here for a quick business trip. I look for reliable basics: breakfast, business center (aka the ability to print out a document if I need to) and while I prefer a place with room service for dinner and a fitness center, this hotel had substantially better reviews than the chain hotels in Newport Beach,...

I am thrilled that we are now your '"go-to" hotel in Newport Beach! We greatly admire those of you out there building and growing businesses and as a former 'road warrior' myself, I am so glad that the facilities we provided for you rated an "awesome"! Just let us know if there are any other small touches we could add...

Just returned from a 9 night California vacation. I spent much time researching hotels as I wanted to feel comfortable in a clean, cared for, not intimidating place. First two nights in Santa Barbara in an 18 room B&B and found it nothing like the pictures, it was fine but wouldn't return. Next three nights were at Bayshores Peninsula and...

I'm so glad we lived up to your expectations, our 'Five Star' reviews are earned by being true to our description, "small, friendly and with a vintage vibe". While you self describe as being 'picky', I am sure you are just like most travelers, you're looking for somewhere clean and comfortable with great value. Sounds like we delivered on our...

Loved the Bay Shores Peninsula Hotel. Friendly older gentleman greeted me and knew everywhere to go in Newport Beach. I think his name was Fox. I thought he must be the owner because he was too good to be an employee. Anyway, absolutely loved my stay at your hotel. It's the perfect location!

"Fox", love it, I think I'll change my name! Actually in fairness, while it may well have been me (Fred) it could equally have been any of my male staff who take such pride in their work, you could easily mistake them for the owner. And of course, the gals on my team are just as friendly and knowledgable, its...

Even though this hotel is rated number one in Newport I was a little unsure about it, given the lower star rating. All I can say is that I am so glad I decided to stay there. I had two separate visits to the hotel, one of two days and one of four days and two different rooms- all the...
