We had the opportunity to stay for 4 nights at this property during Thanksgiving week and it was a no brainer decision to stay here. Rooms were very clean and spotless and I couldn't be more happier with the friendly staff during our visit. Wendy went above and beyond our expectations. Jasmine (front desk were very helpful). Marissa (housekeeping) was accommodating and made sure we had all housekeeping items that we needed. Absolutely will stay in this property again when visiting Yosemite. 5/5 Stars! We will definitely be back.
The room was nice and clean however this is a new hotel so everything looks good. You do not get daily housekeeping service and need to request extra towels etc. if needed. Very basic amenities. Follow up on issues with management is Poor. Room was booked thru Priceline as were my charges. At check out, hotel staff said they did not have confirmation of the charges and charged me on my credit card on file, even when I presented my confirmation from Priceline. When Priceline contacted the hotel, 4x in a week, the manager was either not in, did not follow up on notes left by his staff, or just ignored the situation. Today supposedly a supervisor was authorized to issue a credit to my credit card but could take 5 business days for it to go thru.
It’s clean and close to the park. But the hot water takes forever to arrive and you have to crank the handle all the way to the hot zone. Don’t worry about getting burned, I was still a little chilly throughout my whole shower. Also, the staff don’t act like typical hospitality staff. They do the bare minimum to help and act like minimum wage workers there to collect a paycheck. I’ve been to other holiday inn expresses and had a more cheerful greeting. There are better places to stay in the area depending on what you’re looking for. Tenaya Lodge and Narrow Gauge Inn score higher in my book than this Holiday Inn Express.
The Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Oakhurst is a great location for visiting Yosemite national park. It's close to the gates to make the drive in minimal, yet avoids the insane cost of staying inside the park. There are also many restaurants and even a supermarket nearby, which was super convenient. Upon our arrival, Jessica checked us in, and she was incredible. She answered a ton of questions for me, including many on Yosemite and what to do (based on what I told her we liked). She had great advice, including where to buy groceries to take drinks/snacks/lunch in with us. She convinced us to do the hike that ended up being my favorite part of the trip (the Nevada Falls loop). She was fantastic. Everything in the hotel is brand new, so it's all in good condition. However, when we got in the room, the AC wasn’t on, which was very disappointing because it was a warm day and we got to the hotel late; it took a while for the room to cool down. Otherwise, the room was good; it was updated and very nice. Seating at breakfast was hard to find since there were so many at the hotel, but the food was good (typical hot breakfast from HIE, but that was great since most hotels are doing only continental because of covid). The cinnamon rolls weren’t hot on either day we stayed (barely not cold); they were still yummy, but would be better hot. I would absolutely stay at this hotel again if visiting Yosemite. I highly recommend it.…
Spent 2 nights at Holiday Inn Express during my Yosemite National Park Trip. From check in to check out. Staff was one of the friendliest I have encountered in all my years of travel. They were also very helpful in choosing restaurants. It's a newer hotel. Rooms were squeeky clean and comfortable. Also a very convenient location. Only about 1/2 hour from Yosemite entrance on Route 41.
