We found this property to be average in just about all categories. Close to the park, clean and appears to be well managed, but nothing special. Had breakfast here a couple of times, food and service good. Used the on site self service laundry, all...More
Very good location near Yosemite - Nice hotel for a family with good facilities in a nice town. Near Yosemite and a variety of places to eat in the town - Enjoyed my stay. Nice pool and free wifi Would recommend for families

This motel is located in Oakhurst which is about 8 miles from Bass Lake and about 1.5 hours from Yosemite Valley. The reception is cute but that is about it. The room we had transported us back to 1970. It smelled a bit but otherwise...More
We were told at check-in "Your using Best Western points?" Yes, we were. That's how I made the reservation, using points. We did not find out that we were 5,000 short of the points we needed until I received my credit card bill. Since we...More
The hotel is located outsided of Oakhurst, no chance to go downtown without car. Check-in was very busy, and for the receptionist, incoming phone calls seemed to be more important than the people who were waiting in front of her, which was annoying after the...More

Plan on 1 1/2 hours to get to / from the valley (village area). Sorry but some of the times are very optimistic unless you plan on getting everyone in the car sick, run into no traffic (not going to happen) and you want to get a ticket. The entrance station is not neat the valley or most of the places you will likely want to visit.
Just did this trip earlier in the season. Very good place to stay and a nice drive; just leave yourself time.

We took YARTS on one day and drove the next day (both were weekdays). The bus ride takes maybe 20% longer than driving. The drive is mostly winding mountain roads and you need to drive as fast as the roads allow so as not to delay other drivers, so it is fairly nerve racking and exhausting. The biggest negative with taking the bus is having to leave the park early (we almost missed the last bus). We were able to find parking on the day we drove. That might not be the case on weekends unless you arrive early. I've read that you need to arrive before 9:00 on weekends. Overall, I think I prefer driving, but I wouldn't want to do it too many days in a row. If you are visiting for several days I would recommend taking YARTS some of the days.
