You checked in the hotel and you checked out because you were expecting two beds in the room. Based on your reservation you booked 1 double bed. When you booked your employee rate on Choice Central all our rooms are listed by the...More
I stayed here to take the bar exam. I highly recommend it. Much cheaper than the Marriott and you have all that you need. My room came with a refrigerator and microwave (I suggest requesting it a few weeks in advance) and a relatively nice...More

Thank you for taking the time to complete our survey.
This was our third stay at this hotel, all related to UC Berkeley visits. This refurbished hotel is very clean and a good value in Oakland. Although located downtown, it is much nicer than some similarly priced but cheesy motels elsewhere in the city. Parking...More
We had a room on the 4th floor. It was quite small, but adequate, and the location was good for what we wanted to do. Having booked through TripAdvisor, and having a confirmation number, I was stunned to be told that there were no rooms....More

I do not recall a microwave in the room we stayed in. The room was somewhat small and there may not have been a proper spot to place one. Whether any of Clarion's guest rooms contain microwaves, I'd ask front desk personnel.

Not really. But I will say that Chinatown is only a few blocks away and, for me, I didn't find the walk dangerous. The streets, however, can appear dark and empty with stragglers hanging out on the street corners. Also, just down the street a bit is a pub connected to the Tribune Tower building which serves meals. But I think it shuts down at about 10. But it's decent food and safe.
