Firstly I stayed three nights and was overcharged $120 per night--my mother stayed the first and third nights and was given a room rate of $224/night. My stay for the full three nights was billed at $344/night. Same room, same nights. We had changed the dates of our stay at the last minute due to the unexpected hurricane (!) and I was told on the phone that the rate would be $224/night (since we were no longer travelling at the weekend while the air show was on) but sadly didn't get written confirmation. We were in the middle of vacation so as happens, I let things slide I otherwise would have followed up. So when I checked out and found a massively larger bill than expected I raised this with the clerk who told me that's what the computer says, sorry, can't do anything, and only the accountant is the only person who can adjust the bill. The manager was 'out' (after the desk clerk was gone at least 10 minutes talking with someone) so I got her card so I could follow up the bill. The second problem was that my room had a malfunctioning fire alarm which woke me up twice the first night with five quick, loud chirps. The desk clerk said it sounded like the battery (in hindsight, obviously not--hotels have hardwired alarms) and she'd send maintenance to check it. I don't know if maintenance did check it, but what I do know is that it happened AGAIN the following night. The desk clerk the next day did give me a new room. No apology though. Home from vacation, I emailed the manager outlining how I had been overcharged and requested a refund for the $360 overcharge, and also suggested a goodwill gesture was in order given my poor experience with my room (not being able to sleep in a hotel = not good). I received a refund for the room fee in a pdf file. No letter, no message, not one line from the manager apologizing for the experience. Completely ignored my raising the issue of the fire alarm. Yes, I'm glad to have the blatant overcharge sorted at last (after having to take my own time to sort it, grr!) but ghosting me on the customer service experience? Come on. Not impressed and won't be returning, even though it's the cushiest place to stay near my family.

I stayed on the 1st floor of the building across the courtyard from reception, near the pool. The room was noisy - AC whirring outside, nearby train, etc. The room was clean and well-appointed. The gym was virtually worthless - no ventilation and aging cardio equipment. They had 1 exercise bike but the screen didn't work, pedal straps did not fit, and the wall TV only got a few broadcast channels. The parking lot was not well lit, and seemed prone to theft, although I didn't see or hear anything.

We’re in Southern California to visit family and planned a three night stay. Instead, we’re leaving after one night, and that only because its too late to make alternate plans for tonight. It is clearly an old building that has infrastructure issues. The gap between the two sides of the sliding glass door is wide enough for me to pass three fingers through.

Their EV Car charger was out of service, and it was broken for my entire stay. I was hoping to charge my car there during my stay so it be more convenient to me and my family. Please have it fixed prior to my next visit, thank you.

towels are old, gross and so thin. Bathtub chipped, poorly patched. Ceiling over shower had rust stains from access door. Bathroom cabinet, chipped up. really unfortunate. Not worth in comparison to the rates.

Courtyard by Marriott cancelled our stay the same day after they confirmed and I confirmed. Their staff called me at 11 pm at night while we were on our way to their hotel to tell me we no longer have our rooms. They didn't provide any resolution. They just said sorry, we can't help you as you booked with a 3rd party vendor. One of their front desk clerks said, it was a glitch. The other kept on saying you were booked by a 3rd party vendor. They told us someone from their staff should have cancelled it earlier that evening. I told them their hotel even called me confirming my room. I even called back an hour after the first call to confirm a 2nd room, they confirmed 2 rooms. We were left in their lobby, they didn't attend to us after. We were left without a room even though we booked the hotel a month ago. We selected the hotel because my cousin provided us their information for her wedding. I can't believe we were left stranded without any rooms. To this date, NO ONE has called from the hotel to explain or apologize - they just didn't care if we were unsafe. We finally found a hotel thru the help of the Expedia Rep an hour away, we had to "walk in" as it was too late to rebook on line/virtually.

Very comfy bed, great room decor, including a beautiful stylish love seat. Wonderful coffe corner with fridge and microwave. Nice balcony with distant city view and welcoming tall pine trees right outside of balcony. The bathroom is on a small side and shower needs upgrading but still clean and functional. Very satisfied stay in room 513

While Courtyard is not my favorite Marriott type of property this was a good one. We had a roomy hotel room and the staff was helpful. We spent a Thursday and Friday night and enjoyed the spa by the pool after scuba diving at the Channel Islands on Friday. The only downside was that the Bistro did not open until 6 a.m. and we had to be at our dive boat by 6 a.m. Fortunately, the dive boat served breakfast. There is some traffic noise from 101 nearby and my buddy suggested in the future to ask for a room on the other side of the property. Also, on Friday morning the power to light and plugs on one side of the room mysteriously went out. I told the front desk and she offered to move us to a different room but since we had only one more night and all our stuff set out in the room I declined.

Sudden change in plans, so we booked this hotel sight unseen from the airport. We really wanted to be at the full-serve Marriott near the beach in Ventura, but not available. So instead of a beach hotel we ended up in a mid-rise office complex near the 101 Freeway. Not what we had in mind but no complaints. Room in Building C was quiet (which is important for light sleepers lie us). Room was clean. Mattress was very good. Bed linens were good enough. Staff interaction was all good, especially since making a reservation on a phone through Marriott IT can be a problem (and it was and had to be fixed). Did not eat at the hotel but the Bistro area was at least attractive, and the outdoor courtyard space was appealing. Didn't see any alternative dining within walking distance (although Google Maps tells me we missed several). But as I said we had not expected to be here and had not planned ahead. Clearly not brand new, but I don't mean that in a horrible way at all. Not decrepit by any means. (Well, the chipped up painted over woodwork maybe). Building C was a walkup, but there is a taller building with elevator service). My husband used to live in hotels for work. He adds that if you are booking for a business stay or stay of some length and need support services, there is a cluster of several banks about a block or two away across the office park. There are also USPS, UPS, and FedEx drop boxes in the same area (which saved us tracking down a mailbox. Kind of shocking I'm recommending a Marriott Courtyard, but I guess I am if you are there on business or don't care about oceanfront access. I'd stay here again, even if I can't quite go five circles on the review. Just expect a decent business hotel and not a resort.

Great stay. Clean room. Lobby was clean. There is a Starbucks coffee and bar inside. Overall, no complaints. Plenty of parking and off the 101 freeway. There is a small gym, an outside patio and tables, large lobby waiting area, and a small.snack shop.
