excellent location to be able to walk to many excellent restaurants and shops. The host/hostess are friendly, courteous and helpful. I miss the fresh cookies in the afternoon. They should provide them in easy to pick up packets for their guests to safely pick up.

Your BNB is a hidden (in plain sight) gem. I really enjoyed the fact that your location is only 10 minutes from either Poppy Hills or Pacific Grove golf courses. You are also just a block from a Monday Farmer's market and Light House drive w/ it's many restaurants, including "Toasties" who sell the best tasting $13 Crab Melt west of the Mississippi! The rooms remind you of an old western style room cast straight out of a movie scene. I would stay here again but next time I would get a room that does not front Central Ave. It gets noisy and a light sleeper might find that distracting. Thanks for accommodating me!

Dear Valued Guest, I'm glad you found Pacific Grove's little hidden gem! :) Now you got me curios about the Crab Melt and I need to go Toasties. lol Thank you for staying with us. It is always a pleasure to know that your stay was memorable and you enjoyed that old Victorian feel of the Old West. We are looking forward to seeing you again in the near future. Do please ask for a room towards the back facing the garden because they are quieter. Warm regards,. Erna Clay General Manater

We enjoyed two nights at the Centrella Inn in Pacific Grove and left ready to face the world again. Easy check-in to a small but comfortable room that looked out over the street through the branches of a huge tree. Early morning squirrel antics entertained us out the window from our bed. Friendly staff, glass of wine and cookies in afternoon, continental breakfast of granola bowl with yogurt and strawberries, blueberries, and banana, fresh fig scones, orange juice and coffee. Bright and cozy "parlor" overlooking garden with fresh flowers on the table. Rooms included iron & board, hair drier, bottled soap and shampoo in the shower. Comfortable queen bed. Quiet during our stay. If parking spaces in front were full, adequate street parking was available just a few steps away. Location could not have been better for walkable restaurants, businesses, and the coastal path by Lovers Point and beach.

Gorgeous husband suggested Pacific Grove as a spontaneous getaway ending our Christmas Break. Trip advisor is my go to place for booking any and all accommodations. Centrella Inn a B&B was running a 2 night special $199, on their website. We booked a room @ 2:30pm ourselves on the website and arrived later that evening 7:00pm.
Ms E at the desk was polite and helpful. Especially when all the rooms on the first floor were filled and the only one left, the one we had already prepaid online, was no more than ten feet from the clerks seat at check-in! 😲 Ms E quickly checked, and offered us an upgrade, a larger room on the 3rd floor. Fabulous customer service for two weary travelers!
Skylight over bed to stare into on a clear night/day. The shower is huge and also has a good size window where you can see the ocean, could do without the low flow shower-head.(they should really have a shower-head on two opposing walls)
Artichoke Feta Frittata the best selection for breakfast. Although they do offer six or more different selections each morning. Help yourself to coffee, orange juice, home baked scones variety, bagels, English muffins and breads to toast.
This Victorian B&B is very clean, always has coffee and cookies available with most comfortable beds. Second night we walked to and from Cannery Row, then over to London Bridge Pub on the Old Wharf to play a game of darts. The bike/walking path is well lit at night, safe feel and close by; Good workout!

Traveling north on the Pacific Coast Highway and stopped in Pacific Grove for the night and stayed at the Centrella Inn, wow fantastic!

The Inn is a historic building and is just physically beautiful. Located a few blocks from Lovers Beach, downtown and the coastline, this is a perfect stopping point, never had to use the car once while staying there.

Check in was easy and quick. Our room on the 2nd floor was perfect for the night. Large comfortable bed with a warm quilt which we needed, temps in the low 60's. Small sitting area and great bath. Room and bath were very clean as was the common areas in the Inn.

Breakfast is served between 8-10 and we were able to eat outside on the terrace. Great fresh breakfast and nice gardens to eat in.

Overall, great location, historic building and pleasant staff.

I would recommend.

I was really impressed with this B & B! The building was historic, with beautiful features. The updated bathroom was excellent and the bed was super comfortable. It’s a quick walk to beautiful views of the bay and a block from “downtown” Pacific Grove, full of cute restaurants, cafes, and shops. If you’d like to be near Monterey and Big Sur, but outside of the crush of tourists, this is an excellent location. The made to order breakfasts were delicious and the staff were helpful. I couldn’t recommend the Centrella more highly. One note: it’s an old building without elevators so if mobility is an issue make sure to get a room on the main floor.

This lovely inn, the oldest remaining in Pacific Grove, is the perfect place to explore this charming town. Centrally located, the inn makes it easy to walk to the beach or downtown restaurants. The room was nicely decorated without being over the top with Victoriana. Exceptionally clean and bright, too. How many B&Bs give you a breakfast menu to choose from? My oatmeal with raisens was tasty, and it sure looked like everyone else was enjoying their more elaborate meals. Off-street parking, as well as ample parking on-street. Come visit Pacific Grove and stay at The Centrella!

We arrived and saw our room was a bit small and my wife wanted a tub in the bathroom. Erna was able to make an adjustment for us at a reasonable price. We upgraded to the King Suite which was great. We learned that seem to not provide the late afternoon/ early evening wine they use to during our previous stay. The morning breakfast is very good. you can come down, eat and have coffee in your robe and pajamas, never leaving the building for breakfast.

Dear djruner, Your comfort is our number one priority. Best part of staying at the Inn is a nice, warm, soothing bath! Glad I can help you with that. Unfortunately, the wine hour was discontinued last Aug 2019. However, just ask the front desk. Sometimes, we have some wine still in stock to offer. Thanks for staying with us. I hope to see you soon in the near future! Warm regards, Erna Clay General Manager

I stayed here for three nights in April 2022 and thoroughly enjoyed it. Three blocks from stunning ocean views and one block from the main street of Pacific Grove, you couldn't ask for a better location. Historic rooms that make you feel you are in a magical past make up for the small size of the rooms and lack of modern amenities. Complimentary wine, baked goods, and breakfast are all great touches, and the staff are polite and service-oriented. The lobby/common room is also cozy and great for relaxing, playing games, or reading at night, and the garden is wonderful for the same during the day. Highly recommend.

We have stayed at the Centrella Inn many times. The accommodations are comfortable, charming, and homey. The staff does a great job of welcoming and taking good care of their guests. The hot, homemade breakfast is a bonus and we find staying here an overall good value.

Hi Deirdre...definitely a cottage. Do get discounted tickets to the Monterey Bay Aquarium! One could spend a whole day there, but at least 4 hours! Lovely walk (@ 1 mile) along waterfront path to the aquarium from the Centrella Inn so no hassle with parking. We totally disagree with Passionfish restaurant recommendation for a family. (Wrote review @ it from our stay late August.) SO many excellent eateries in Pacific Grove & of course next door Monterey that are not as pretentious, expensive, and have beautiful, fun views. Do walk the pier in Monterey. (Further north of aquarium; would need to drive. Also reviewed well on Trip Adv.) Carole ("callucan")

I beg your pardon, my reviews are my opinion just like yours and everyone else's . I don't agree with a lot of reviews either but I am not so rude as to criticize the reviewer. You have no idea what my experience is other than the review. We had a great stay. As I am sure you know a personal experience whether good or bad affects the review a person writes. We had a good stay, perhaps you did not but write a review no need to comment directly to someone else other than the B and B itself. And yes I do happen to like Beat Western. Have a great 2017 and many happy travels
