We stay in this establishment because of its location and pet acceptance policy.
The rooms are very clean with comfortable beds with a very friendly and accommodating staff. The breakfast consists of the standard bagels, toast muffins etc. You have to take it to your room to eat. The phone reception in this area leaves a lot to be desired, but this is through no fault of the motel. It is up to cell phone service providers to fix the problem. The motel advertises Wifi. Don't believe it. The Wifi signals disappears any time you shut your unit off, and maybe if you are lucky the signal will reappear. If you are not depending on Wifi, you are good to go.

In our initial search for a hotel this came with a high rating and the aerial photo showed good parking options. The room was very nice, clean and modern colors. It was quiet during the night and the arrangement of the hotel with the border picket fence and single driveway entry to the site seemed extra secure and private. Due to the Covid restrictions their breakfast was very limited to basically coffee and a muffin or cupcake. Our room had a refrigerator, microwave and bar sink. A couple of amenities we did miss was a place to hang up clothes and a dresser, which meant living out of the suit case, and no alarm clock. At normal prices this can be a very nice place, but we were there with the inflated prices due to the Pebble Beach car show, and next time we would spend more for a place that could meet our needs for that specific visit.

I stayed the last 3 nights of April in this charming small Inn. I must say I had a very peaceful stay. Let’s start at what really drives this place….location…location….location. It is less than a 5 minute walk to the beach. It has near by biking and walking trails. I was able to access the 17 mile drive with my bike within a short distance from the hotel. One of the nights I also walked to the Downtown area for dinner as it’s only a 1 mile walk.
The Inn has a lot of charm. It is older, but well maintained. The grounds have several outdoor areas that you could sit and enjoy the natural beauty of the area. They have a fire pit which came in handy at night while gathering with other hotel guess. They have a continental breakfast in the mornings, but I never had anything as I’m not a breakfast person.
I had a Queen 1 bedroom cottage room. At night I could hear the ocean which was very pleasant. The room was large with 2 night tables and a tv. It had a large
Closet with some hangers as well. The bathroom had a shower/tub combo and sink with vanity that had a couple drawers. It is a good size for 1-2 people. The living room had a small desk with a lamp and a small sofa that could sit 2. There was a fireplace which is actually a heater and came in handy a couple of the cool nights. My room had a mini fridge and a full stove. The larger microwave was not working so they had a smaller one as well which was functional. It had the kitchen basics for two including utensils, toaster and plates. There was a small table with two chairs. Overall, I found the room to be very clean. I loved that it had wood floors (that was a very big plus). The furniture does has some ware , but nothing major. I would definitely stay in this Inn again. I know other people have stated that you could hear everything one room to next, but I did not hear anything or anyone except the ocean and I’m a light sleeper. My complements to the owner and staff for maintaining this charming Inn and for helping have a pleasant stay.

Over a 1 month trip in west USA, I stayed 2 nights in Bide a Wee inn with my family, 2 adults and 3 kids. The location is really great, however this is the worst customer service experienced I had during my American month. I booked an extra bed for my daughter, unfortunately the bed was really bad and my daughter couldn't sleep the first night, which could happen. I spoke to the attendant who says he was not the owner and couldn't help, all the extra bed were the same, I should claim when checking out. On the next day after another difficult night for my daughter, though we put the mattress directly on the floor, I spoke to another attendant, Alex. This guy was really impolite, stayed on his back office and didn't even come to the front desk to looked at me or to listen, saying as long as the bed was in the room, he couldn't help and by the way I was lucky not to be charged 90$ but just 30$ (On the top of the 540$ I paid!). The guy was only interested and repeating, just leave the key on the desk and leave, not event listening to me! I was really annoyed not to be heard. So I don’t really recommend and by the way avoid extra-bed, not a good experience 😉

I have had only positive experiences with this motel for several years now. BUT this year-after booking 5 months ago, at full price, I was placed in 111A which is a very tiny room that felt like being in a hostel. The sink was so poorly designed and so little that if you wanted to lean over and rinse your mouth out you would hit your head on the shelf directly over the sink. I complained to the person on duty and, though pleasant, he said there was nothing he could do as the rest of the rooms were booked. I am sure I was targeted as a solo traveler to get this "very special room" as there was only ONE of its size on the whole property. I plan to contact the manager. And unless am given some free stay or reduced rate stay
I will not stay here again.
Really disappointing..

We stayed here before a few years ago and it was fine (4 stars, no-frills room in a good location), but this time we walked into a room that didn't match the description of what we reserved. When we said we weren’t interested and would prefer to stay elsewhere, the manager refused to cancel, discount it or even speak to us (he was off site that day and responded to our request to cancel via the desk clerk). The clerk said he would call us the next day.

We left, but we never got a call back, just a charge for the full two-day stay on our credit card 3 days later.

Given the numerous positive reviews, I’m sure this can’t be typical, but it sure made our first Monterey visit in a while less pleasant than it should have been.

If you want more background, we had called before we made a reservation to make sure that the room we were looking at had a fireplace, which is a must for a winter stay on the Monterey Peninsula. The person at the front desk assured us that it did so we made the reservation. When we got here, it had no fireplace. The manager either didn’t believe us (he asked the name of the employee who told us, which of course I didn’t bother to write down, because I didn’t anticipate it coming to this) or just didn’t care ("it's the day of the reservation", so it can’t be cancelled regardless of what room you thought you were getting.)

And to add insult, the room wasn’t available for those two nights, so they likely rented it out anyway. (Double the earnings on the same room!)

So now we’re in the middle of a credit card dispute over the room. We’re likely to get the money back, but only after a whole lot of lost time and stress.

Very beautiful environment! Small intimate feel to the place. Our room had a small table with two chairs right outside the door where we could enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning. Also close to the ocean, lighthouse, monarch butterfly sanctuary, and more. I will highly recommend!

Arrived at this location at 6pm - as I told them I would when I made the reservations and was told that my room had been given up! I had the 2 bedroom unit for myself, my daughter and two granddaughters. Arrived, exhausted, expecting a comfortable relaxing evening and was informed my room had been given up! I was told my credit card had been run and had been declined! This was a LIE! I have a $25k credit limit on that card with ZERO balance! Further...the credit card company would've notified me of such an attempted transaction. I was furious to say the least!

We stayed here two nights for our anniversary. The location is a two minute walk from the beach, but the positives ended there. The room was absolutely filthy and had a smell we couldn't shake despite leaving the windows open all day while gone. The walls were so thin we could hear the TV and conversations of next door neighbors as well as upstairs neighbors. We had to sleep with ear plugs. The bed was uncomfortable and the sponge provided in the kitchen was used, dirty, and falling apart. We will never stay here again.

We rented a two room cottage for a girls getaway. It was a cute place with a large bathroom. Only complaints were that the beds were hard, small loveseat in the living area that is uncomfortable and front desk clerk gave us the wrong key three times before we could get into our room. Vending machines were all out of order. Nice location, clean and pet friendly.

Yes, the space for cooking is small but you are able to cook a meal. The owners and management are very friendly and I'm sure would help you with anything that you need. The breakfast if very nice and filling.
