This was the perfect place for us! The staff is really friendly, accomodating and welcoming! We originally booked for the suite with the sofa bed, but did not find it really comfortable so we decided to go for the appartement upstairs. It has a lot of space, it is extremely clean, well equipped and the beds are super comfortable. The hot tubs are great and super hot.
Great location (across from Asilomar), clean room and friendly hosts. However, disappointed because the furnishings and bedding could use a "refresh." Uncomfortable sofa, toilet that ran, and a loud rain gutter drain (though latter only a problem if you're staying in a rain storm). Breakfast okay (cereal, pastries and waffles) but no juice! Hope that the owners try to do some upgrades as this is a great spot!
The place is near the beach and area restaurants and more. Located in a quiet neighborhood. Rooms are well maintained, except that they really need to oil the door hinges on front door to each room. Ours squeaked loudly and the room next door was just as bad. I know because the occupants went in and out every 5 - 10 minutes from 8am till about 9:30am during our stay. Made it impossible to sleep. Can't speak to the breakfast as we skipped it. The plastic bags of garbage stacked against the building next door (another accommodation) wasn't very pleasant to look at, but that was not Pacific Gardens Inn's doing or fault.
This is a cracking place , perfect location to explore the area . We received a lovely welcome by the guy on the front desk . It’s quiet and the room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. The happy hour where free wine was available was a lovely touch . Plenty of choice for breakfast . Would definitely book again on our return to the States, Thank you
I have been staying here for years. I do not stay anywhere else in the area. Property was recently upgraded and looks fabulous. The rooms are clean, and the staff exceeds my expectations ea time. Robert offers top notch accommodations at great rates location is perfect, quiet and relaxing.
Bugs in the bed, torn curtains, dirty drapes, filthy couch, mold in the tub, sink wouldn’t drain. The receptionist acted surprised and then said I was threatening rather than offer to accommodate our concerns. All for only $245 per night!
- location is very good, close to the beach, 10min drive to the center - very big room, plenty of space - lots of parking - loved the photo of Jack Nicholson in the lobby - breakfast is very basic, but okay - book a second floor room if you can. If there is a room above you, you can hear everything
Very clean room. Outdated furniture. Location was very nice and close to beach. Breakfast was waffles and assorted pastries and juice. Service was friendly and helpful. Pacific Grove is a beautiful town with plenty of amenities like Cannery Row and a world class aquarium
What can you say, but, "We like the place!" The staff has always been positive, friendly and informative. We frequently travel with our small Terrier and the Inn accommodates her. This area of PG has become our usual choice on the Monterey Peninsula given its seclusion from Carmel Hill, Cannery Row, et al. A brief walk through the Asilomar Conference facility will bring you to the beach for sunset viewing. There is breakfast and a wine Happy Hour! The rooms we have stayed in have been large with the usual accoutrement.
Absolutely no customer service. The old guy that was on duty in the afternoon Jan 18 -2022 should be ashamed over himself in the way he treats customers. Despite the lack of customers and the number of empty rooms- he probably put us in the worst room he had. We asked specifically after a room with a view but got a room behind a stair with a view towards a wall. We returned back to the reception asking for another room. Despite the lack of customers he wanted a 50% extra pay from us. Just for a slightly better view. Exactly the same worn out room. The bed was old and uncomfortable. Everything felt itching in there. We definitely dont recommend this place. We cannot understand the positive reviews. They must be very old! Housekeeping woke us up in the morning- even if we were leaving that day and didn't need any. They were then brushing the stairs outside our window at 8 am in the morning, Woke everyone up! Breakfast poor and non appealing. It felt old as well as the whole building. We left quickly the next morning. And we are never coming back. NOT RECOMMENDED. STAY IN CARMEL INSTEAD!…
