We chose one of the suites, which gives you a living room with a gas fireplace and a separate bedroom. Separate thermostat in the living room and bedroom, so you can keep both rooms comfortable. Both rooms have a t.v. and the king bed is very comfortable. They've done remodeling since our last visit. New carpets and a hide-a-bed in the living room. Good wifi and easy checkin. Free continental breakfast includes waffles.

If you’re reading this, you’ve probably already read other very mixed reviews on the Rosedale Inn that advertises as “luxury suites”. I was very hesitant to book this inn, as the reviews ranged from “Great, love this place!” to “Never staying here again”. Here is an honest, detailed review of our stay in room 105.

We had our baby with us, so having a suite with a bedroom and small kitchen was a priority. So we will start with the pros. This is a true suite with a bedroom, and a kitchenette area. There was so much space, it was great for our baby to crawl around, and sleep in a separate room.

The location of this inn also can’t be beat. The 10 minute peaceful walk through Asilomar to the beach was wonderful.

The cons. This suite is quite rundown and there is evidence of major neglect. The couch was very broken, which as a result we couldn’t sit on. The curtain in the bedroom is also broken and you can’t close it all the way. Peeling wallpaper, rusty everything, stains on the walls, etc. While the room still felt clean, it was very obvious it needs a good update.

The heater worked but something was off with it. We had set it to 64, however the baby monitor was reading that the room was 72 degrees.

Just a few nitty gritty things:
Their website advertises that a crib is available for a fee. They actually do not have cribs available at all.

Also the room is advertised online as suite with a kitchenette, however there are signs in the room that say no cooking is allowed. I almost brought the griddle to use, I’m glad I didn’t though because I wouldn’t have been able to use it. I will say though that they provide a few dishes and silverware that came in handy. A drying rack would have been nice. We washed the dishes and just used a small bath towel to dry them with.

Lastly, we noticed that there was only one smoke detector, and that was in the living room area, there was no smoke detector in the bedroom.

I would like to finish with this isn’t a review just to complain, it is just possible recommendations for how the owner of this inn could improve their suites. It was not luxury in any way, however I would say it was cozy. I’m not mad, I kind of expected this experience based on other reviews.

I think if you have kids, just looking for a place to stay near the ocean, don’t care about the state of the room and have low expectations, this would be a good option. I feel that the room price was fair, based on location alone.

At the end of the day, we had a great weekend and none of the cons really hindered our stay… except the couch. My only real complaint is get a new couch in there, please lol!

Our stay at the Rosedale Inn was one of the best experiences we have had in a long time. The manager at the front desk was so very friendly, even allowing me to change clothes in our room early. The room was spotless and very spacious. The jetted tub was a welcome treat at the end of a day of golf. The hotel was extremely quiet and I just can't say enough good things about it.

Just returned form a stay at the Rosedale Inn, don’t bother staying. Everything is outdated, needing major renovations and is noisy. Stayed in a King room, has adjoining wall with room next door, sounded like storm troopers with the way they walked around all night. The advertised fireplace didn’t work, the bathroom window had no locking mechanism on it, the carpet was frayed and worn. Wall paper in bathroom peeling off the wall in the shower and the front panel of the jetted tub was falling off. Had such a bad night of sleep that we left with one night left on our reservation.

I will not recommend this Inn. In fact I advise you to avoid it. It’s not worth the money-torn carpet, rust, low water pressure, bathtub separating from wall, peeling wallpaper and paint...not a “luxury suite” at all. The one positive I can say is the location is very nice.

The hotel could be charming but it’s more of a strange mix of things falling apart in the room with a couple of new tweaks like the carpet or the bathroom, but not even the entire bathroom, half the bathroom is from 1970s and the other half is from 2020. The part that I think is the worst is the bed is old and tired, play the rest of the room, and the bedsheets have stains that in some cases are yellow or many different colors. I don’t think it’s not clean, but basically, all the bedsheets have seen probably 30 years of hotel life and makes you really wonder if you want to get in bed at all. The room is huge, as they are there 103, but strangely the bed faces the parking lot and hands is pretty noisy whereas the back is a living room overlooking a weeded patio without any furniture. Oh, and forget about getting any Internet. AT&T gives you one bar and the Internet is worse than that one bar. Not work the $550 for two days at all. If this was $90 a night, then I’d change the review.

We just stayed here for 2 nights.
The good: we stayed in a king suite and it was really large. We had plenty of room to spread out.
It appeared to be clean.

The bad: the room is tired!!
The sheets were stained. They smelled clean but the stains are really off putting.
The carpet is worn and was actually torn and pulling up.
The bathroom had painters tape holding wallpaper up and the tub sides were falling off.
The tv in the bedroom works but the color is wrong.....everything looks green.
The fridge is very loud.
The outside sitting area is really crappy and the view from the bedroom over the back fence looks like some crack house.
The sofa in the living room section is the most uncomfortable I have ever sat on.

We were in room 110 so maybe some of the others have had a facelift? I know we are in COVID times and things are tough but this is maintenance that has been deferred for quite a while.....not just 8 months of tough times.

I spent $460 for 2 nights which is way too much for what we got. I wouldn’t come back any time soon.

This hotel cant have 2 or 3 stars, Room completely outdated, wallpaper is falling of the wall, a lot of damage.Like carpet ugly dirty, sharp broken floor. Bathroom is dangerous and the jacuzzi is not usable. Not good cleaning at all, its absolutely not worth your money. Beds are scaring us out, we slept with our clothes on.

The receptionist was nice. Sadly, the place needs to be kept in better condition and improved. The mattress was dreadful, the ceiling fan did not work and the room smelled dreadful. An unpleasant smell, that was a cross between insecticide and air freshener. I would have said something but the office was not open at 8 am for checkout. It is a shame as the place has tremendous potential.

The room we had did have a fireplace but given it was very hot we did not use it so maybe it is just for appearences! To be honest with you we did not like the place for several reasons including the fact that is was a dark and a bleak room. Sadly after the event we were told of a much better place and that was called the GOSBY HOUSE INN run by the Foursisters group I know it’s more expensive but with the bad feeling we had at the Rosedale next time we will be staying there for sure. As mentioned by deganwy If you get to stay in the area go for a meal at the Beach house restaurant and if you can get there before 5:30 and ordered there are significant saving on very and I mean very tasty meals plus cocktails- you will not be disappointed that I am sure of. Have a great time we just love it down there.

I stayed in a king suite with two separate rooms with a pass through hallway containing a small fridge, sink and microwave with coffee maker. it they had a comfortable couch, large chair, coffee table, end table with lamp and nice desk with desk chair. The bulbs were very low wattage in the room so it was way too dark.
